Shantou Institute of Technology now has 45 majors (directions) in computer department, mechanical and electrical engineering department, economic management department, mathematics and science department, politics and literature department, foreign languages department, art and sports department, preschool education department, adult education department and technical secondary school department.

Shantou Vocational College is a full-time general higher vocational college sponsored by Shantou Municipal People's Government with the approval of Guangdong Provincial People's Government in 2002. It is formed by the merger of the former Shantou Education College (including Shantou Kindergarten Normal School), Shantou Commercial Supply and Marketing School, Shantou Electromechanical School and Shantou Teacher Training School.

College consists of headquarters, Jinyuan Campus, Xinjin Campus and Dongdun Campus, covering an area of 1.252 mu, with a total construction area of 235,000 square meters. The total value of teaching and experimental practice equipment is about 484 1 1,000 yuan, with a collection of 930,000 books.
