Shanghai Industrial Technology School (formerly Second Light Machinery School) was founded in 1963. It is a modern, comprehensive and full-time national key secondary vocational school with distinctive characteristics. 1998 merged with light industry school, and it is one of the fifty characteristic professional schools in Shanghai. The school is located in the east of Xujiahui, the sub-center of the city, on the inner ring road, with convenient transportation. The school has an excellent teaching staff, all full-time teachers have undergraduate or graduate degrees, and more than 85% of them are rated as senior lecturers, senior engineers, lecturers, engineers, technicians and other senior titles. Three senior teachers in the school were hired as members of the National Teaching Steering Committee for Mould, Machinery and Electrical Specialty of Light Industry. 18 Young and middle-aged professional teachers were sent to Japan for further study. The school "Sino-Japanese Modern Mold Technology Training Center" is a national-level scientific and technological cooperation project between China and Japan, the first batch of training bases for skilled talents (numerical control technology application) named by the Ministry of Education, and the only "mold technician" (level 3) national vocational skill appraisal institute in Shanghai. With a total area of 9676M2, the school training center has two open training centers, namely, the application of CNC technology in Shanghai vocational education and the design and manufacture of molds, as well as training rooms for various majors, where students will receive good professional training and vocational skills training, laying a solid foundation for future career development.
