Baiyun Lake is the largest artificial lake in Guangzhou at present, and it is the first phase of the water diversion project of Zhujiang River in the northern water system of Guangzhou. It is located in the north of Huangjinwei and Huanjiao Village in Baiyun District, and Liuxi River is 1.5km north, including Guanghe Pumping Station, Diversion Canal and Baiyun Lake.

Baiyun Lake is divided into East Lake and West Lake. Baiyun Lake not only has water quality testing center, sluice management room and other hydraulic engineering functions, but also has places for citizens to play, such as Liumai Qingyuan Square, tree-lined square, green lawn and leisure center. In the southeast of Baiyun Lake, there are basketball courts, tennis courts and other sports and leisure places. At the same time, in the "greenway", whether running or cycling, there are different views. The 40-kilometer bicycle lane and the 65,438+00-kilometer track allow citizens to exercise in green all year round. In addition, basketball courts, tennis courts and other ball sports venues will be set up in the surrounding areas, and leisure sports facilities will be placed in appropriate areas. The small island of Dongxihu Lake has also set up a fishing area for fishing enthusiasts.

Now come to Baiyun Lake to play. First, you can relax. There are many leisure functional areas around the lake, including a post office with Lingnan characteristics, a basketball court, a football field and a table tennis table. Citizens may wish to exercise by the lake. Secondly, in order to enjoy the ecological forest, the lake invested heavily in creating a green landscape. There is also an ecological forest of 100 mu planted by the leaders. You can see them from the west gate of East Lake. Go counterclockwise. Third, appreciate the "island chain" composed of 26 islands. Because the original terrain was used in the construction process, the underground silt was integrated into the island, forming many small islands dotted around the lake. Fourthly, the Beijing-Guangzhou Railway crosses Baiyun Lake, and the area surrounded by the two Beijing-Guangzhou Railways is 150 mu of artificial wetland.

Baiyun Lake Project will be completed on 20 14 -20 15. By then, Baiyun Lake will be built into a comprehensive water conservancy project integrating water intake safety, water ecology, water culture and water landscape, and become a "West Lake" scenic spot with unique Lingnan characteristics in Guangzhou.
