As the translator said in the preface, "three levels of culture" is the most important part of this book. Hall creatively divides culture into three parts by ternary analysis, and expounds the relationship between them. In my opinion, at this point, Hall seems to reveal the sources of morality, institutions and other visible cultures. As a visible culture, it originally originated from technical culture, but it also has relative independence and strong vitality. Therefore, when technological culture changes, it will continue to exist in society for a period of time with its great inertia. Moreover, when people predict that the outdated dominant culture will collapse, they will be countered from the beginning.
I don't think the above is the theme of Hall's book, but its importance should not be underestimated, especially in today's great social changes, when great events are coming. Understanding this point will help us journalists who are at the forefront of the times to better assess the situation and grasp the pulse of the times.
