Is it too late for me to learn to repair the motor?
Many friends in the same industry talked about a question in WeChat chat, that is, is it too late for electrician in his forties to repair the motor? Is it easy to learn to repair the motor? Are the prospects good? Because I have worked in the front line for a long time, I have been exposed to many aspects of the electrical industry. Here are some questions from my friends.

First of all, an electrician friend in his forties, I don't recommend learning to repair electrical machinery. First of all, automobile maintenance is a real technology, which can also be said to be an artistic activity. It is not easy to master it skillfully, from sampling wire pattern, winding, slot insulation, wire embedding, end shaping, interphase insulation, binding, painting and assembly. Every working procedure should be just right, otherwise it will affect the next working procedure. For example, the sampling line die is small, the embedding is difficult, the sampling line die is large, the end of the motor is too large, copper is wasted, and it is easy to collide with the shell during assembly. In these links, the most critical is wiring, which is directly related to the quality and benefit of motor maintenance. Wiring is all hands-on work, and there are many skills in it. Practice slowly. You must personally operate more than two or three hundred motors to feel it, and then you can master the operation skills and be skilled.

Secondly, motor maintenance is both technical and manual. The assembly of large motors is very difficult, and the wiring of motors is very tired. Friends who maintain the motor for a long time generally have occupational diseases-low back pain. An electrician friend in his forties is too old to keep up with his eyes and hands. He has a long study period and his physical strength is getting worse every day. When you are proficient, you will know nothing.

You just learned how to repair the motor. You have to consider whether there is a business, whether there is a market, and how many motors you can repair a year. We study hard to repair the motor just to make more money. If there is no motor to be repaired, where is our contribution and value?

The profit margin of motor maintenance is still ok. In the current industry, 60 yuan is generally about 1 kW in Danyang, Jiangsu, and the motor below 1 kW is charged at 2 kW. Special motors have special prices, such as servo motor 3 kW, maintenance fee here 600 and so on. The maintenance fees of special motors are different.

A friend of mine in his forties dreams of learning electrical machinery well and opening a maintenance company in an industrially developed city. Personally, I think it is unrealistic, and it is not easy to conquer the world alone in an industrial zone. First, your skills must be excellent, because there are all kinds of motors in the industrial zone. Second, you have to be able to muddle along. You are good at technology, and you won't muddle along. If the motor can't arrive, it must be repaired. Third, you have to prepare a trailer to take the large motor to the factory. It is not easy to repair large motors and auxiliaries with supporting tools.

Friends in their forties, old and young, are the backbone of the family and have great responsibilities. Can you afford to delay?

The above only represents personal views, and I would like to give a suggestion to friends who hesitate in this regard for reference only.
