The procedure of studying in Germany at one's own expense is to prepare materials, pass the examination, contact the school and apply for a visa.

After receiving the letter of admission from a German university, you can send the visa directly to the audit department of German students studying abroad without going to the German embassy. Before sending the visa, you need to complete the application for passport and self-insurance deposit. When sending a visa, you need to submit a visa application form, 3 photos, passport, certificate of self-insurance deposit (issued by German bank) and a letter of admission from a German university. In general, you can get a visa in 1 to 3 months. How to apply for a German university

The study places for foreign students are allocated by the Foreign Affairs Office of the University. Foreign students can apply for universities in Germany through ASSIST. ASSIST is a joint working organization established in June 2003 by the German Academic Exchange Center, the joint meeting of German university presidents and member universities. ASSIST's office is in Berlin, and all materials applied for its member institutions are sent to Berlin for centralized examination and certification. The final decision is made by the school and the admission notice is issued by the school.

ASSIST charges an audit fee of 20 euros for applying for a university, and each additional 10 euro. The application materials submitted to colleges and universities must be complete, and the deadline for submitting materials shall be subject to the deadline for applications of colleges and universities. It is best to send the application materials for assistance at least 6 weeks before the application deadline of each university.

How to pass the visa smoothly

At present, there are three main types of study visas in Germany: 1, study visas, where applicants have not been notified of being admitted to German universities, but have participated in German training before entering universities; 2, student visa, the applicant has been told that the university admission, the general study abroad applicants should apply for this kind of study visa; 3. The visa to attend the German training course cannot be converted into a study or student visa, and the holder of this visa must leave the country after the language study. Universities in Germany generally issue admission notices eight weeks or earlier before the start of school, except for preparatory courses and limited places. After accepting a visa application, you can get a visa in 6-8 weeks, but due to different personal circumstances, some people will be longer, others will be shorter, and it will be normal in about 3 months. Applicants who have passed the examination by the German Examination Department for Studying Abroad will submit their visa applications to the examination department with the German University Admission Notice, and there is no need to pay any more, because the visa fee has been included in the examination fee of 2,500 yuan.
