The Asian Games Organizing Committee has produced a series of related training videos for us. Through training, I deeply understand the connotation of the spirit of voluntary service. Clarify the mission of volunteers for the Asian Games; A preliminary understanding of the history and inheritance of Lingnan culture; How to do a good job in external publicity and communication; Master the general etiquette knowledge of voluntary service with strong operability; How to deal with public security and emergency handling? In a word, with the belief that every training is essential, I have learned a lot of necessary skills to become a qualified Asian Games volunteer.
The first training was held in the lecture hall of the North Campus of South China University of Technology. Volunteers in the north campus of our school got together, watched the sign language performance of "Come Together" and listened to the lecture of "Volunteer Service and Volunteer Spirit", which benefited a lot and touched a lot. Tangible material achievements can leave a deep impression on people, but intangible spiritual strength can permanently influence the world's cognition of China. Volunteers are messengers of the Asian Games. They will embody the spirit of the Olympic Games with words and actions, and show the image of China with smiles and services. The spirit of voluntary service of "dedication, friendship, mutual assistance and progress" is the noble sentiment pursued by human society. Although volunteers can't win the glory and applause on the field, they will play an irreplaceable role in hosting a successful and wonderful Asian Games. The Asian Games is also a grand event to promote friendship and exchanges between Asian countries. Volunteers from all directions have different life backgrounds, professional experiences and hobbies, but they all have the same dream: to make athletes and spectators feel at home with enthusiasm and care. During the Asian Games, volunteers will build bridges between people of different races, regions and cultures, pass on friendship and enhance understanding. The volunteer service of "I give, I am happy" not only conveys and promotes the spirit of the Asian Games, but also makes the fire of volunteer spirit spread widely on the land of China, making the volunteer spirit of "dedication, friendship, mutual assistance and progress" become the spiritual norm in the daily life of more ordinary people. This will also be a great spiritual wealth that the Asian Games will bring to China and Guangzhou.
Every training is important, and every training is indispensable. The second training was "20 10 Guangzhou Asian Games" and "Lingnan History and Culture and Life in Guangzhou". Guangzhou is not only a famous historical and cultural city with beautiful Wuyang legend, but also has a history of more than 2220 years and profound historical and cultural accumulation. With the rapid economic development today, Guangzhou still maintains its local cultural characteristics. The study of this knowledge has deepened the understanding of Guangzhou's history and culture for new Guangzhou people who come here to study, played an invisible role in promoting volunteers and deepened their understanding of the compatible and open part of Lingnan culture. Then we also received the training of "communicating with foreign media". Modern media is not only a window for human beings to understand the world, but also its comments and attitudes affect many people in modern society. Therefore, we volunteers must learn how to face the media and how to convey correct information through the media. Only in this way can we show the world the image and quality of our volunteers and the good features of the Asian Games. Guangzhou Asian Games is not only a sports feast for Asian people, but also a moment when China culture shows its charm and Guangzhou shines to Asia and the world.
What impressed me the most was the training of General Etiquette for Volunteer Service, which showed us the correct instrument posture through a series of positive and negative examples and better displayed the image of volunteers. When we undertake the volunteer mission, our image has not only represented individuals, but also represented Guangzhou and even China. We should show the quality and image that citizens of a big country should have in our gestures. In the etiquette of voluntary service, the most crucial point is to smile. Etiquette is a profound knowledge, but a smile is a passport. We always smile in the process of volunteer service, which shows respect for our guests and optimism about our work. Only by knowing etiquette can you become a qualified volunteer better.
"Public safety and emergency handling" is the knowledge we must use in our daily life, but there is no formal training to let us know what to do when something happens. Therefore, whether it is volunteer training or daily life, these trainings are necessary, which are related to our life safety, so it is necessary to promote them. Volunteers need to master more to deal with various possible situations during the competition.
The general situation of Asian countries lets us know the unique customs of different Asian countries. Volunteers' knowledge of psychological adjustment and self-care enables us to learn to protect ourselves better in the process of helping others.
During the training, I also benefited a lot from learning and communicating with other students. In short, after several weeks of training, I have gained something new.
