Introduction to English (2) Tutorial of Self-taught Examination
English (II *) is a basic course for all majors except English majors in the self-taught examination for higher education, which is suitable for students who have completed the self-taught English course in middle school. Because "English II" includes "English I", "English II" is also suitable for self-taught students who have passed the "English I" exam and are willing to continue to improve.

Course purpose

Make learners master basic English knowledge and language skills skillfully, have good reading ability, certain English-Chinese translation ability and preliminary listening, speaking, writing and translation ability, and lay a solid foundation for obtaining information needed by majors and further improving English level.

basic content

English (2) includes systematic knowledge of English grammar. There are about 3,800 English words (including about 1.600 words learned in middle school), about 750 phrases, and the reading volume is more than 50,000 words. English (2) focuses on the basic vocabulary and grammar of English, and the main purpose of the course is to cultivate reading ability.

Examination proposition

The test questions include objective test questions and subjective test questions, accounting for 70% and 30% of the total score of the test paper respectively. The types of test questions include Chinese-English translation of words, fill-in-the-blank and grammatical forms, structure and discourse expression, error recognition, reading comprehension, cloze, English-Chinese translation (essays) and Chinese-English translation (sentences).
