The time is about to enter June, and the graduation of graduates has entered the countdown. Graduation, job hunting and employment affect schools, enterprises, society, government, and even every graduate and his family. How to find a job and how to get a job has become the focus of their attention. Desire to become a professional has become the first demand of graduates.
Witness Growth: Our Job Search Story
Qingqing, a graduate of a famous clothing college in Beijing, will graduate in 20 12, and is currently looking for a job and choosing a job. Because the school is more influential in the industry and has delivered a large number of graduates for the clothing industry, many enterprises come to the school to recruit, and Qingqing has also obtained many interview opportunities, but in the end, she is still hesitating about how to choose.
Many students around Qingqing have basically settled their jobs, and some choose to continue their graduate studies. Of course, some students have no direction at all.
In the process of looking for a job, Qing Qing and her classmates found that what they learned in college could not match the information obtained from interviews and internships. I'm not sure whether I can be qualified for this job in the end, but Qingqing decided to choose the clothing industry that suits her major.
It takes courage to stay and persist.
We've been through it.
Nana, after 80. In 2006, she graduated from Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology with a bachelor's degree, and now she works in a clothing company in Beijing. Four years of work experience has made her grow into a mature clothing professional.
When recalling her experience of finding a job after graduation and the process of adapting to work, Nana said: Finding a job after graduation from college, like the college entrance examination, is also a scene of thousands of troops crossing the wooden bridge. ?
Looking for internship opportunities
Nana made clear her goal when she was at school, and she wanted to be engaged in the clothing industry. Because of this, she always pays attention to the internship information provided by the school. ? My first internship was in my junior year, and I found the recruitment information in the bulletin board on campus. At that time, IKEA was going to move from Madian Bridge to Siyuan Bridge, and there were many things to do when the new store opened, so it provided some internship work for design students, such as merchandise display. At that time, because of this opportunity and my own conditions just met the requirements, I successfully entered the IKEA internship. ?
Ikea's experience in product display has brought Nana many benefits. She believes that even exhibition assistants can improve their design ability and aesthetic taste, and combine these with commodity marketing. Because art still needs to be combined with commercialization to produce benefits, especially academic designers should deeply understand this from their own practice.
? The works in Rose Square are entirely my intentional works. Because I am about to graduate, my studies are not very heavy, just preparing my thesis. I just want to find an internship unit as soon as possible, so I pay close attention to the information of many recruitment websites. At that time, Rose Square was not particularly famous, but because it was a designer brand and made high-end customization, it was in line with my interest, so I submitted my resume. After several rounds of interviews, I started with sales (the sales of Rose Plaza need design ability, draw design sketches on the spot according to customer's customization requirements, and then place an order), and entered the newly opened Rose Plaza International Trade Store. ? In this way, Nana began her second internship at school.
When talking about entering the Rose Square at that time, Nana said: The first time I stepped into the Haute Couture Studio, the first thing was that the working atmosphere was different. Luxury and privacy are very different from the traditional clothing company I remember.
In addition, in such a company, the designer's personal talent is highly valued and smacks of personal heroism. Different from designer brands, such units will have more room to play. As we know today, the customers of Rose Plaza are mainly political and business celebrities and entertainers, so relatively speaking, although the cost is also considered when designing, sometimes the cost can be ignored in order to achieve the effect. ?
Nana feels that this position needs not only design ability, but also the combination ability of design and market, which is a challenge. At first, Nana was also worried about whether she could fully adapt to the job. At that time, Guo Mao's store hired two salespeople, the other one had several years' working experience, and Nana was only a senior at that time, and she didn't understand many things. ? The fabrics and crafts that I seldom contacted at school were contacted by high-end custom companies, and the work also involved sales skills, so I was very concerned about such internship opportunities and went all out to win them. ?
After staying in Rose Square for 4 months, Nana left Rose Square. For this departure, Nana thinks that she is still young and unsure, and always wants to go to a ready-made clothing brand to have a look again.
So Nana found another opportunity, that is, a white-collar worker from a well-known women's clothing company in Beijing went to Beifu to recruit graduates. ? Before graduation, white-collar workers went to the school to hold a special job fair. I saw the school announcement and went to attend. At that time, my internship in Rose Square was over. After the job fair, all interested students filled out a resume and I handed it in. Later, I received an interview call from a white-collar worker, which left a deep memory for me. I interviewed four times before and after. ?
Interview test
? The company's human resources director and department directors came to Beifu for the first time and interviewed the selected students again. At that time, I was deeply impressed by the long queue outside the door, and even went around several times to ask questions around my study experience and internship experience.
In the second interview, I went to the white-collar headquarters, leaving only twenty or thirty people. The main body of the interview is the directors and chairmen of various departments of the company. First, we visited the company headquarters, then the chairman spoke, then everyone made their own speeches and statements, and finally the directors of all departments of the company chose their own.
? Different from the first time, the questions raised this time are far from professional and focus on the evaluation of values. ?
Nana was deeply impressed by a detail in the second interview, that is, after the interview, dozens of students got up and left from the conference table, some students pulled chairs away, and some got up and put them back in place. Later, when Nana entered the company, she realized that this was also part of the interview. Nana put the chair back at that time.
In the third interview, the team of twenty or thirty people suddenly shrank to four. Later generations basically did not delete it, and the human resources department informed Nana to start working in the company, which was the beginning of the probation period.
The fourth interview has an assessment content, which is to make a design work during the probation period. This is to assess the designer's thinking and practical ability. If the design work is unsatisfactory, the company will ask you to leave.
Nana said that there are many people's desks in the white-collar headquarters, with the design works of previous directors on them, which are very artistic and harmonious with the environment. ? White-collar workers have four brands, and I entered his high-end customized brand? Golden collar. The task I received was also to make a work. I chose a bright yellow chiffon fabric in the white-collar fabric warehouse and pleated it to make a haute couture dress (still unaffected by the haute couture in Rose Square). I made this dress by hand and worked overtime at night. After the work was finished, I found my director. Through him, I chose a diamond necklace in the exhibition of Golden Collar and pinned it on the podium, and the effect was different immediately.
After the platform was built, the white-collar Miao teacher held a special ceremony, and all the works of our four newcomers were taken out and handed over to the whole company for comment. At that time, I was very nervous, and I didn't know if my work could be recognized, which might decide whether I could stay.
The works of the three of us (the newcomers in the marketing department don't need to design) have been carried out. First of all, we each said our own design ideas, then the director commented, and then Teacher Miao made a concluding speech.
? Finally, the fourth interview, I passed. ? Having said that, Nana still remembers it.
Nana later concluded that the purpose of the fourth interview was to see the communication and coordination ability, design ability and hands-on ability of newcomers and departments through this process. Because this dress can't rely entirely on itself, sometimes workers need help, such as borrowing jewelry from Jinling, which requires certain communication and coordination skills.
Among the four people interviewed for the fourth time, there is a marketing department, a display department, a design department (Nana) and another design department, but he is not a student of Beifu. In the year of Beifu, all three people finally stayed in white-collar workers.
Then Nana began to work as an assistant for three months. Her job is drawing and standing in the shop. Among white-collar workers, even at the director level, they have to go to the station shop on weekends. White-collar workers are sales-oriented companies, paying special attention to marketing, and their design ideas are guided by sales processes.
Now it is an interesting process for Nana to think back on those days. She hasn't had a day off during the half year of working in a white-collar job. Go to the station every Saturday and Sunday, and everyone has a sales task. Feeling stressed? Nana's design career began with sales. Except Saturday and Sunday, I usually do sketch, fabric selection and other design auxiliary work.
Employment choice
After half a year, due to physical reasons, Nana did not insist on white-collar work and chose to resign. However, white-collar workers left a deep impression on her heart. Their execution, rigor and attention to details all had a deep-rooted impact on Nana's later work.
After a period of rest, Nana finally decided to work in a clothing company in Beijing, which is not as famous and powerful as white-collar workers. Asked why, she said? Because we can see more widely, besides design, we also want to have a comprehensive understanding of clothing enterprises. ? From 2006 to now, four years have passed, and she has no plans to change jobs.
In summing up the transition process from graduates to professionals, Nana's advice to graduating graduates is that they must enrich their professional skills as much as possible during their school days, and internship units must combine their future career plans in order to find a job that suits them.
Quote one's own example to advise someone or explain something.
CFW: China Clothing Daily
Nana: Graduated from Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology in 2006.
CFW: Do you have any plans to find a job before graduation?
Nana: Of course. Before graduation, I went to IKEA and Rose Square Haute Couture Studio. Later, in the white-collar interview, these experiences helped me a lot. After four rounds of interviews, I finally entered the white-collar job as the only designer among so many design students in Beifu.
CFW: Does the school provide students with enough job-hunting skills?
Nana: To tell the truth, higher education now pays more attention to imparting knowledge than to job hunting and skills.
Because our school is a school with outstanding professional expertise, it is relatively easy for graduates to find jobs.
CFW: Do you think what you have learned in college is enough for your job?
Nana: The school only takes you to get started. You will really encounter many practical problems in your work that you can't learn in school. You need to study hard and get into the role as soon as possible. Moreover, if you have vocational skills training at school, you should actively participate. When you enter the company, you are no longer a student but a professional. Graduates should have a full understanding of this.
When we graduated, the school provided a lot of employment information. My first internship was based on the information of the school, and I also participated in some induction training in the school, so our school did better in this respect.
CFW: Is it difficult for your classmates to find jobs after graduation?
Nana: There are also difficulties. Although there are various reasons, I think the less positive factors in internship and job hunting are the main ones. Everything depends on people.
CFW: Is it difficult for students who can't find internship units to find jobs?
Nana: Not absolutely, but students with internship experience will definitely have an advantage in finding a company, because companies now want to find someone with work experience.
If all companies are looking for people with more than 2 years of work experience, who will accept graduates from the first 2 years? This is a strange circle, so graduates should accumulate experience in all aspects as soon as possible.
CFW: What impressed you most in the interview?
Nana: That was my third interview for a white-collar job. I did everything else well, just as deadly. I am late.
At that time, our design director asked me to explain this in the interview.
I said:? Such a well-known big company must have a strong sense of time. First of all, I apologize for the inconvenience. I went to pick up my classmates first, and then a traffic accident happened on the road together. It's a pity to find that the roll call has already started here! But I know it's useless to say this. If you ask me why, I will tell you the truth. If you don't ask me, I will only admit my mistake, because being late is being late. Don't give any reason.
Then Mr. Miao said, it's a little military obedience. Stop chasing, or you'll be late for the interview, and it's over.
CFW: If you gave a piece of advice to the graduating college students, what would you suggest?
Nana: Get a correct understanding of yourself as soon as possible, enrich your professional skills and make a good career plan.
University education: the cornerstone of graduates' job hunting
Facing the problem of graduates' employment every year, we have to say that the unreasonable curriculum of higher education, the disconnection from social needs, and the weak practical ability of graduates exist in some colleges and universities to varying degrees, which has affected graduates' employment to some extent.
The transformation of higher education from elite to mass is one of the important signs of social development and national quality improvement. Accordingly, graduates are bound to go through a process from elite to popular in employment mode and employment pattern, that is, to apply for jobs and obtain employment as ordinary members of society.
Professor Xiao Wenling, director of the Department of Dyeing, Weaving and Clothing of Tsinghua Academy of Fine Arts, said when talking about university education? Each school trains different target talents, but higher education pays more attention to quality education, and cultivating high-quality talents is the purpose of most colleges and universities.
This is different from vocational education, which is clearly defined as serving the industry and cultivating technical talents. Now the orientation of undergraduate education is basic education, so undergraduate graduates are required to have adaptability, lifelong learning ability and innovative consciousness. ?
Teacher Xiao also said that Tsinghua Academy of Fine Arts will give many lectures on students' understanding of careers, and the invited lecturers are all famous people in Chinese and foreign clothing circles. Some time ago, a new British designer was invited to give lectures in Tsinghua, which will help students of Tsinghua Academy of Fine Arts broaden their professional horizons and be of great help to their future development.
Teacher Bian Xiangyang, director of the Department of Clothing at Donghua University, thinks that China's higher education advocates broad caliber and is often not targeted. This is because if you subdivide your major too much, it will also cause new employment problems. Therefore, colleges and universities cultivate talents who can adapt to many positions in the industry. ?
This view coincides with Zhao Ping, Dean of the School of Fashion Art and Engineering of Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology. He also thinks: Higher education should not be too specialized, because there is still a difference between undergraduate and higher vocational education. Quality education is more important in higher education. We should pay attention to the cultivation of students' knowledge, broaden our horizons, and let students have a broader road to future development. ?
Bian Xiangyang also pointed out that enterprises should also undertake part of the task of cultivating students into talents. Only school-enterprise cooperation can cultivate more talents that meet the actual needs of the industry.
Teacher Zhao Ping has a similar view. Teacher Zhao believes that there is indeed a problem of post-profit in recruiting graduates, but enterprises should not be too eager for quick success and instant benefit, or they should proceed from the perspective of long-term industrial development and social responsibility.
Zhou Tong, consultant lecturer of China Fashion Designers Association, said? Now, after graduation, students in the Institute of Fashion will find that what they teach is different from what enterprises use. The school pays more attention to some basic education, which makes graduates unable to work after graduation. ?
This situation leads students to explore the skills they need at work. If graduates work in a more formal company and have a perfect training system, they will master the skills of their jobs in a period of time; If you go to a company that is not very standardized, you need to spend a lot of time and cost, and you may not be able to find the right direction. So it is very necessary for graduates to do some pre-job training.
Teacher Zhou Tong also believes that the postgraduate vocational education needs the joint efforts of three parties. On the one hand, enterprises in the industry need to consciously cultivate graduates' skills. Second, some training institutions are needed to train the students in garment colleges in business skills. The third is the change of the organization itself. The transformation of colleges and universities needs a long period, so the other two should play their roles as much as possible to make students walk more smoothly on the road of employment.
Job hunting and employment: a correct and pragmatic attitude is the key.
For graduates, self-awareness and pragmatic attitude in the process of job hunting are crucial to the smooth employment.
The reality is that the number of working-age population is greater than the number of jobs that society can provide, which makes it difficult for graduates to find jobs. On the other hand, the degree of individual's subjective initiative in the process of choosing a job determines the difficulty of employment.
Professor Xiao Wenling, director of the Department of Dyeing, Weaving and Clothing of Tsinghua Academy of Fine Arts, said? China's clothing industry chain is relatively prosperous, so as long as the graduates of clothing colleges can learn, they will have strong adaptability to enter the enterprise after graduation. ?
Tsinghua Academy of Fine Arts has also built many opportunities for students to get in touch with the industry. Since the sophomore year, there are internship arrangements every summer vacation, and the senior year has a whole year of internship time.
Moreover, from the second grade, the school will take students abroad to study, so that students can have a broader professional vision.
Tsinghua is a comprehensive university, and some resources can be enjoyed. Every month, experts from all over the world come to Tsinghua to give lectures, so that students can absorb a lot of nutrition from other majors besides studying in this major, which is undoubtedly beneficial to their growth. It is precisely because all aspects actively create a good environment that graduates of Tsinghua Academy of Fine Arts do not have the problem of employment difficulties. So far this year, every student has the intention of further study and employment, without exception.
The number of students in the Department of Fashion Design of Tsinghua Academy of Fine Arts is relatively small, and the school has a good employment plan. The employment problem of their graduates does not seem to represent a common phenomenon. What is the employment situation of the graduates of Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology, which has a large number of graduates every year?
Zhao Ping, dean of the School of Fashion Art and Engineering of Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology, said this. At present, the employment situation of graduates from Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology is still good, and students have basically determined their intention units, so the employment demand is very good. The employment rate of Beifu is above 95% every year, and this year will be no exception. ?
It is reported that the Admissions and Employment Office of Beifu organizes some courses every year and invites specialized human resources companies to tell students about career planning. ? The Institute of Fashion Art and Engineering will also organize some lectures for students of this major to guide them according to the characteristics and requirements of various positions in the industry. These tasks begin with the entrance of new students and continue until the graduation of students. And before graduation every year, more than 100 enterprises are arranged to come to the school to recruit graduates. If students can have a correct career plan for themselves, employment should be no problem. ? Dean Zhao Ping added.
Nowadays, a common problem for students who find it difficult to find a job is that they are uncertain about their position and don't know what they want to do. After all, employment is not a simple problem, which needs the attention of schools, enterprises and society, and students' own efforts to have a satisfactory solution.
The values of contemporary college students broke through the barriers of traditional ideas and dogmatism, and began to pay attention to self-worth, and began to dabble in various cultures eagerly, boldly and extensively, and began to establish the consciousness of openness, information, efficiency, innovation, market, public relations and environmental protection. Value orientation plays a key role in college students' employment orientation, which also makes it difficult for some college students to find jobs. Of course, the inequality between graduates and jobs is the key to employment difficulties, which makes it involve all aspects to help college graduates solve employment problems. Therefore, it is necessary for students, schools, enterprises, society and government to make joint efforts, so that graduates can finally become competent professionals smoothly.

In recent years, China's higher education has gradually entered the stage of popular education from elite education, and the number of college graduates has increased year by year: from 3.38 million in 2005 to 410.3 million in 2006, and then to 4.95 million in 2007. In 20 12, the number of college graduates nationwide reached 5.59 million. In addition, there are still 700,000 former students who are not fully employed, and college students are facing a huge employment crisis. In 20 12, the total number of graduates who joined the job search army reached 5.92 million. There are 6.3 million college graduates in 20 12 years, and the employment situation is still not optimistic.
Yuan Guiren, Minister of Education, bluntly said at the 20 12 national video conference on employment of college graduates that the adverse impact of the international financial crisis on China's employment has not been eliminated. If 20 12 is the most difficult year for China's economy, then 20 12 may be the most complicated year, and the employment situation at the macro level will be very severe. Then, the number of graduates in 20 12 is 6.3 million, and the number of graduates who need employment can be imagined.
Faced with this severe employment situation this year, college graduates should make preparations as soon as possible, collect information, find their desired work direction, and figure out which majors and places they can face.
It is predicted that in the next five years, China's economy will continue to grow at a rate of more than 7%, creating at least 5.6 million new jobs every year. Comparatively speaking, the employment situation of highly educated job seekers will be more favorable.
According to the survey data of the Ministry of Personnel, it is estimated that the national demand for college graduates this year is about1665,000, which is 22% less than the actual employment last year, and the total number of contradictions is further increased.
In addition, the starting salary of undergraduate graduates this year increased by 9% on average, from 2,000 yuan last year to 2 185 yuan this year. From the perspective of cities, the salaries of fresh graduates in first-tier cities are generally higher than those in non-first-tier cities. Take undergraduates as an example. The average monthly salary of undergraduates in first-tier cities this year is 2500-3000 yuan. In non-first-tier cities, the monthly salary of fresh graduates in coastal areas is 2000-2500 yuan, while the monthly salary of fresh graduates in other non-first-tier cities has declined to some extent. Experts say the above data explain why first-tier cities are the first choice for graduates, especially Beijing and Shanghai. The salary levels in the two places are generally much higher than 40% in North China and East China.
Reporter's notes
Experience and knowledge
When planning the topic selection of graduates, the direction of writing will become a critical report, because from their own feelings, higher education and work skills are far from each other. We attach too much importance to imparting knowledge and neglect professional skills.
But during the interview, I slowly changed my direction. The reason is that it is more important to convey useful experience than fierce criticism. So I chose my job experience as the main body of the report. The article tells a story of job hunting and employment in a large space, which is more practical for the students who are about to graduate.
The narrator's experience is really wonderful. As the saying goes, life is often more exciting than novels. This is my first feeling after listening to it. This story attracted me and benefited me a lot. I believe that Nana's story is being repeated by thousands of graduates, or will be repeated soon. The purpose of writing a story is to encourage people who are experiencing the story, and also to guide people who are groping for a job to tell a possibility.
We have all gone through the process of graduation, job hunting and employment, and we have also moved from confusion to clarity. I have always believed that in many cases, experience must be more important than knowledge.
