With my experience in teaching my own children and neighbors' children, there is absolutely no need to work so hard! A wrench, find a slope, adults don't have to run a step, children can ride around the world from scratch in three hours, and the possibility of wrestling is very small!
The solution is simple:
1. The most difficult thing for beginners to ride a bike is how to balance. Therefore, children learn to "get on the bus without falling", even if they succeed more than half! Use a wrench (flat) to remove the two pedals of the bicycle (pay attention to the thread direction-the threads of the two pedals are opposite). If there are small wheels on the back and sides of the car to prevent falling, they should also be removed. You must use a bicycle with only two wheels. Lower the seat and let the child's feet land naturally. It is best to tie the cuff with a rubber band or rope to prevent it from being hooked by the empty rod with the pedal removed. Choose a flat land, the child sits in the seat, and every time he starts, his feet push hard on the ground a few times. As soon as the car started, he lifted his legs, extended the sliding time as much as possible, walked as straight as possible, and knew the skills of balance. Because the car seat is lowered and the double pedals slide on the ground, the speed is relatively slow. Even if the car is about to fall, children can easily stop with double pedals or clicks without the help of adults. And the more adults hug, the more nervous children are, and the harder it is to find a sense of balance.
2. Once children learn to skate without landing their feet for a long time and can basically walk in a straight line, they can be encouraged to learn to turn, turn around, slide around corners, learn to grasp the direction, and learn to stop at any time according to the adult's password-novice cyclists often panic at critical moments and forget to brake! For safety reasons, "braking" is actually as important as "cycling".
3. Children are skilled in balance, direction and braking on the flat ground, and can practice "downhill sliding" to greatly increase the sliding distance. Find a gentle slope, let the children push the trolley uphill, slide down from a height, start from a short distance, and gradually increase the starting height on the slope and the downhill sliding distance. After sliding like this many times, let the child learn to slow down and stop with the brakes, and teach him to pay attention to safety knowledge such as using only the rear brakes instead of the front brakes when going downhill. At this time, the child has been very confident and his interest has been greatly improved. Adults only need to pay attention to the surrounding vehicles and be responsible for safety, and then give children some advice.
4. When the child can glide tens of meters away, grasp the direction more freely, and stop at any time according to the sudden password of the adult, the child basically passes the test. At this point, reinstall the two pedals (but keep the seat cushion in a lower position for safety), and tell the child to lift one pedal, step on the pedal at first, and push the other foot hard at the same time. After a few times of starting exercises like this, the child can ride the bike and go! You're done!
In my experience, it is safe, easy, simple, time-saving and trouble-free to teach children to ride a bike in this way. Adults don't have to run a step, usually it can be done in about two hours, not more than three hours!
