Some people may not agree that this is a small problem, but in a state of etiquette like China, the weight of "ceremony" has always been decisive. This kind of situation, which takes the owner's left or right as the standard instead of the east or west of geographical orientation, seems to better reflect the flexibility of people-oriented and shine with the brilliance of human nature.
In ancient China, the respect of left or right was not immutable. Different periods, different times, different fields and different occasions have different regulations.
The four stages of the global situation
From the pre-Qin Dynasty to the Western Han Dynasty, rights were generally respected. Among them, the pre-Qin and Qin Dynasties focused on respecting the left, while the Western Han Dynasty focused more on respecting the right.
From the Eastern Han Dynasty to the Tang and Song Dynasties, China gradually formed a left-oriented system.
After the establishment of the Yuan Dynasty, it was stipulated that rights should be respected.
In the Ming and Qing dynasties, the left was respected, and this system was used for more than 500 years in the Ming and Qing dynasties.
