See how Zheng Lu interprets Wang Yangming —— Reading Wang Yangming in Ming Taizu (Urban Express)
The Ming History written by Mingyue before has described Wang Yangming very well, but after all, the Ming History is a book about Ming history, mainly about history. Limited by space, although it involves Wang Yangming's academic content, it has not been able to give a comprehensive and detailed account. Zheng Lu's book Wang Yangming in Ming Taizu describes Wang Yangming in detail, with more than 300,000 words, which can be regarded as a supplement to describe Wang Yangming. When I picked up a brother of the Ming Dynasty, Wang Yangming, and read a few pages, it reminded me of the history of relying on heaven to slay dragons in Cambridge. If The Dragon Slayer in Cambridge is based on the study of Cambridge history, then A Brother of the Ming Dynasty, Wang Yangming, tells Wang Yangming by telling stories. Zheng Lu narrated Wang Yangming's life course in a popular and humorous way, which effortlessly ran through the formation and development of three propositions of Yangming's theory of mind, namely, the unity of knowing and doing, and to conscience, which made the context of his theory of mind traceable. In addition, Zheng Lu described in detail the evolution history from Lu Jiuyuan to the Ming Dynasty's mind study in fashionable online language, and reviewed and summarized the pre-Qin philosophy and Neo-Confucianism in Song and Ming Dynasties, which made the interaction between knowledge and entertainment irresistible. Neo-Confucianism is an important milestone in the history of China's thoughts, and Wang Yangming's theory of mind is an ideological peak admired by later generations in the history of China's ancient thoughts. When reading the history of China's thoughts, we can't ignore it, cross it, and even abandon it. Before I really read Wang Yangming, my understanding of Wang Yangming was limited to a few ambiguous generalizations. As the most famous thinker, philosopher, writer and strategist in Ming Dynasty, he was proficient in Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism, and was a rare all-round Confucian in the history of China. His theory of mind and nature combines the essence of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism. For such a great thinker, if we can't deeply understand his works, interpret his thoughts and put this series of things that need to be interpreted in the historical background, we can't really understand Wang Yangming as a thinker anyway. I still remember sitting in the corner of the library and eating Wang Yangming's works in college. In the process of reading, apart from the obscurity of Wang Yangming's works, I lack understanding of the historical background of Wang Yangming's ups and downs in his life, and I can't integrate the historical situation with the thoughts of his works, so my understanding of Wang Yangming is very shallow. Zheng Lu's "Wang Yangming in Ming Taizu" got rid of the academic boring language and replaced it with a harmonious network language, which not only elaborated Wang Yangming's life experience and life, but also discussed Wang Yangming's contemporaries and contemporary political struggles. In the book Wang Yangming in Ming Taizu, friends, scholars around Wang Yangming and various struggles in political officialdom all run through the story of Wang Yangming's life, so that readers can have a deeper understanding of the history of the Ming Dynasty while understanding Wang Yangming. The author tries to show Wang Yangming's magnificent life in the historical background of the Ming Dynasty in a panoramic way, so that a scholar of the Ming Dynasty shrouded in fog can stand in front of readers in a three-dimensional way. From Wang Yangming's two falls from power and influence to Sun Shan, and then to the repeated framing and imprisonment, Wang Yangming's life and mind-learning thoughts became easy to understand and became an unprecedented ideological peak in the history of mind-learning. In a relaxed and pleasant reading mood, readers can easily get into the cognition of Wang Yangming's life and psychology. The language style reminds me of Mr. Luo Yonghao, the founder of Lao Luo English Training. Like Mr. Luo, Zheng Lu is good at explaining things to readers in a teasing tone. Another major feature of this book is the author's broad vision. In Wang Yangming's narrative, it contains complex knowledge of ancient and modern China and foreign countries. Suddenly, the lines of American blockbusters infiltrated into the interpretation, broadening the horizons of this book; Suddenly, the academic innuendo of Kant, Camus and other foreign philosophers made this book think more deeply; All of a sudden, humorous narration in online languages such as "silly and naive" and "your ya" makes the style of this book more interesting. In the process of reading, readers enter a colorful and colorful world, or laugh loudly because of some languages that pop up from time to time, or fall into thinking because of psychological interpretation, which makes people fondle. At least, the language of this book brings pleasant enjoyment to readers.
