⒎ Excerpt from the article: Talking about Hanover Conservatory of Music in Germany

Why is Hanover Conservatory of Music so awesome?

I just came to Germany and didn't know there was a conservatory in Hanover. Later, in 2000, La Xiaoti's sister of Shanghai Conservatory of Music told me that Hanover Conservatory of Music had a world-class violin competition called joseph joachim, whose name was unknown from the beginning. Later, I heard that China's piano prince Di Yun came to Hanover Conservatory of Music for further study. I'm confused. Why did Di Yun choose Hanover? Are there no conservatories in America, such as Julia and Berkeley? Not only Di Yun, but also Di Yun's teacher elder sister Chen Sa transferred from the Royal Conservatory of Music to Hanover. China people have also studied here, such as Shen Wenyu, a 65,438+05-year-old piano genius, Yan Junjie and Chen Shuwei, a piano prodigy in Taiwan Province and so on. I asked my friends in Taiwan Province Province with this question. He told me that Hanover Conservatory of Music is as famous in Europe and America as Harvard University in the world. Why Harvard, but not Oxford? Because in my mind, Oxford is not as thick and rigorous as Harvard. Perhaps it is because people in Taiwan Province Province worship beauty. ) Its keyboard major can be said to be unparalleled in the world, and there are four or five world-famous masters in piano major, such as Mr. arie vardi from Di Yun and Mr. Karl- from Shen Wenyu. Merlin, Yan Junjie's teacher Vladimir Kranev, etc. Many of them are judges of world-famous piano competitions such as Lao Chai and Lah. Hanover's accordion, string and wind music all enjoy world reputation. Relatively speaking, its vocal music, dance and other drama classes are not very good. By the way, Yang Liqing, president of China Shanghai Conservatory of Music, is piano master and a doctor of composition from Hanover Conservatory of Music. It is precisely because Hanover Conservatory of Music has many masters and talented people. For example, among the top six finalists in this year's Chopin competition, Hanover occupied three places, among which the second and third place were a pair of Korean brothers (the son of a modern enterprise president) and the sixth place was a girl from Hong Kong. For example, Shen Wenyu participated in the Elizabeth Competition, and the top three were won by Hanover Conservatory of Music. The Elizabeth International Piano Competition is one of the most difficult piano competitions in the world, because there is no age limit, and all contestants are treated equally. The first is a piano professor in Hanover, the second is Shen Wenyu, and the third is a Korean. It is said that Koreans were deeply wronged by being demoted to Shen Wenyu, and finally refused to take the stage to receive the prize. In international competitions, it often happens that prizes are won by Hanover Conservatory of Music, and people here have long been used to it.

Hanover Conservatory of Music is small, with only 1 0,000 students. If you think of the German education system, students have no study term, and there are many people who haven't graduated after five years. Therefore, according to the scale of China, it should be a school with less than 1 1,000 students. I'm not sure about the number of professors. It is composed of nearly 30 majors, big and small, regardless of keyboard, string and other departments. There is no so-called secondary college in China. Its degree system is like this: students enter school for the first time, take the final exam three years later, hand in a paper of about 50 pages at the same time, and then get Diplom(MA (MA) (that is, Musik Erziehung in German, which should be called music education when translated into Chinese). If you want to continue studying (provided that you have a certain musical talent), you must pass the exam again and get a diploma (1-2 years later, Ka (Ka means Kuenstlich Ausbildung, which means art training and further study). For stage performance majors, such as all instrumental music, the highest title is Diplo (solo), which is the title of performer. In Chinese, Diplom translated into a master's degree is actually wrong. According to my understanding, it should be certified as "equivalent to bachelor, master and doctor". The school also has what we usually call a juvenile class, which recruits all musical talents like Shen Wenyu.

There are more than 40 conservatories (including private ones) in Germany, among which Berlin University of the Arts, Munich Conservatory of Music and Cologne Conservatory of Music are famous. Among them, Cologne's strings are also world famous. The German Conservatory of Music is also mixed. For example, Bremen and Trosingen. Among them, Bremen is called a garbage shelter by people in Taiwan Province Province, and almost half of them are Asians, mostly Korean students, and there are also many people in China in recent years. Most of them didn't transfer to Bremen until they hit a wall in other conservatories.

German conservatory of music VS American conservatory of music

When I was still in China, I heard the names of the Juilliard Conservatory of Music, cortese Conservatory of Music, Berkeley Conservatory of Music and other conservatories in the United States, or Russian conservatories such as Moscow and St. Petersburg. German schools are not very famous in China. I didn't know until I arrived in Europe that the German school (or the European school) and the Russian school are recognized as the two major schools in the music industry, and there is no American school at all. It is true that many famous performers who are active on the world stage are from the United States, but most of them became famous in Europe (Russia also belongs to the European category) and then developed in the United States. As the most developed industrial country in the world, the United States also provides more stage and business opportunities for performers. European and American music circles call it "European production, American packaging" phenomenon (in fact, in recent years, Asia has also carried out export activities for world classical music circles).

Music higher education in America is very different from that in Germany. As far as musical instrument performance is concerned, in a sense, the United States pays more attention to theory, while Germany pays more attention to performance technology. Taiwan Province people know this best. Because of the special historical relationship between Taiwan Province Province and the United States, most Taiwan Province musicians are made in the United States, and they all have doctorates. In Germany, as mentioned above, the highest degree in performing arts is Diplom(Solo), which is the so-called title of performer. This Diplom is usually translated into a master's degree, and so is Taiwan Province Province. Because Taiwan Province Province has not signed a cultural agreement with German for mutual recognition of academic qualifications, Diplom(Solo) is only treated as a master's degree in Taiwan Province Province. Moreover, Taiwan Province Province only recognizes the diplomas of four German conservatories of music, namely: Berlin University of the Arts, Hanover, Cologne and Munich Conservatory of Music. Therefore, many students from Taiwan Province Province go to the United States to study for doctors after getting their degrees in Germany!

Generally speaking, for students studying instrumental performance in Hanover Conservatory of Music, only after passing the initial diploma (ME) degree will they write a paper with dozens of pages. After that, you don't have to write any more articles, whether it's diploma or the last Diplom(Solo). But its graduation exam is still quite difficult. For example, in the KA exam, in addition to an hour of Kammermusik (chamber music), there will be a solo concert for nearly one and a half hours. For Solo, it is even more difficult. Large bands should perform at least three times, plus a solo concert. Therefore, it is common to study alone for four or five years, because cooperation with big bands requires opportunities. Relatively speaking, in the United States, no matter what major, you have to have a thesis in the end, and of course you will get a doctorate in the end. A short story may well illustrate the entrance examination threshold of Hanover Conservatory of Music and Juilliard Conservatory of Music: A few years ago (about 2003), a second-year piano candidate from Juilliard Conservatory of Music in the United States applied for Hanover Conservatory of Music. He was German and Hanover, but in the end he fell into Sun Shan. This is what the lucky China girl mentioned above told me.
