Yuncheng Salt Lake District is located in the southwest of Shanxi Province, at the junction of Qin, Jin and Henan provinces in the middle reaches of the Yellow River. It is adjacent to Xiaxian County in the east, Yongji and Linyi in the west, Zhongtiaoshan, Pinglu and Ruicheng in the south, and Wanrong, Jishan and Wenxi in the north.
