Intestinal constipation in pigs is often treated by enema in clinic. The method is to stop feeding while the pig still has an appetite. Prepare 2000 ~ 3000ml warm soapy water or 2% baking soda water. Before enema, raise the pig and hang its tail, then soak one end of the hose of enema with soapy water and slowly send it to the deep anus. Squeeze the small rubber ball of the enema by hand to pressurize, and the solution in the enema will slowly enter the intestine with the pressure. Generally, about 500 ~ 800 ml of solution is injected at a time. At the same time of deep enema, we should also cooperate with abdominal massage to soften dry feces. When the sick pig has severe constipation, it needs repeated enema to be effective.

Note: Pregnant sows should not be enema to avoid miscarriage.
