Beijing Dance Academy is a full-time ordinary institution of higher learning whose main task is to cultivate high-quality dance talents, study high-level dance theories and create works. Formerly known as Beijing Dance School, the Academy was founded in 1954 and is the first professional dance school in New China. 65438-0978 With the approval of the State Council, the Beijing Dance Academy was formally established, which is under the Ministry of Culture. There are nearly 600 faculty members, nearly 2,300 full-time students (more than 65,438 undergraduates, nearly 200 graduate students, and more than 800 affiliated middle schools), about 7,000 graduate and non-graduate students in the College of Continuing Education, more than 50,000 dance grading teachers at home and abroad are trained by the Dance Grading College every year, and nearly 500,000 students take the Dance Grading Examination.
