Kunming City University, located in Kunming, Yunnan Province, is a full-time private undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education. It is a pilot college for the transformation and development of Yunnan Province into an applied technology-oriented university, a private undergraduate college with advantages and characteristics in Yunnan Province, and a demonstration college for the training of applied undergraduate talents in Yunnan Province. 2. Kunming City University was founded in 2000, and started enrolling students on 200 1. Its predecessor was Yunnan Normal University Business School. In June, 20021,it was transferred and renamed Kunming City College with the approval of the Ministry of Education.
