How to test the railway driver's license
According to the regulations of the Ministry of Railways, anyone who has a technical secondary school degree or above in locomotive major, is under 45 years old, and has his/her ID card and a medical certificate from a hospital at or above the county level can take the exam, regardless of whether he/she is a national railway or a joint venture or local railway personnel. The national unified examination system shall be implemented for the qualification examination of railway locomotive drivers. Only those who pass the examination can participate in the locomotive inspection, function test and locomotive handling skill test organized by the authorized unit of the Ministry of Railways (locomotive driver training institution). The locomotive driver qualification certificate is valid for 3 years. Those who have not been employed by the employer within 3 years must be retested.

After the implementation of the national qualification examination for railway locomotive drivers, the Ministry of Railways will implement an annual comprehensive evaluation system for locomotive drivers, with 12 points per person per year, and 12 points will be deducted for drunk driving, handing over the locomotive to an unlicensed driver and using an invalid driver's license, and the locomotive driver's license will be revoked. At the same time, major traffic accidents, dangerous accidents and general accidents have been punished accordingly.

Personnel who are not allowed to drive railway locomotives and rolling stock are not allowed.

According to Article 4 of the Measures for Licensing the Qualification of Railway Locomotive and Rolling Stock Drivers, the following persons are not allowed to drive railway locomotives and rolling stock:

(1) Smuggling, selling or taking drugs;

(2) Organizing, leading or participating in terrorist activities;

(3) drinking alcohol, taking psychotropic drugs or narcotic drugs under state control, or suffering from diseases that hinder the safe driving of railway locomotives and vehicles, or having other behaviors that affect safe driving;

(4) Failing to take assessment, education and training measures after driving illegally.
