The vast Wuzhumuqin grassland is the cradle of wrestlers. The tradition of wrestling here goes back to ancient times, and it has a good reputation so far. In the 5th year of Kangxi (1666), Anju monopolized the glans penis among 1024 wrestlers in the grand meeting hosted by the Qing government. /kloc-At the beginning of the 9th century, Bater Chaoketu attended the ceremony of the capital of the Qing Dynasty, and when he returned to China, Bukui was the first. /kloc-In the mid-9th century, the wrestler Duren Zana was a figure in the legends and ballads of herders. Wuzhumuqin's wrestling suit is representative and typical.
(1) Watch the sword in wrestling
This is to facilitate the other side to grab the wrestling coat. As far as texture is concerned, there are four kinds: cowhide, rough leather, felt and Puckilo. In terms of style, there are two kinds: open and closed. Open style is also called butterfly vest and wing vest. Because it is shaped like a butterfly wing, it is actually a tight vest, with a neckline but no collar, short sleeves and a back panel, and there is almost nothing in the front. Just wrap it back with two thongs (on the vest) and tie it around your waist. No matter what material is used, the neckline, sleeves and edges should be wrapped with layers of fragrant cowhide or coarse cowhide, sewn with rubber bands, silk threads and hemp bands, and silver or copper foam nails should be embedded in the above parts and waist sides (otherwise you will not be able to catch them if you fall and sweat). There is also a silver mirror or bronze mirror, which is five inches square or moon-shaped, in the middle of the back. There are four males (dragon and phoenix, liger), elephants and deer on the mirror. There are also various patterns and Mongolian seal or square Mongolian characters. Be sure to use strong cloth as the lining.
(2) apron
This is not the kind of thing that housewives wear around their waists. Instead, tie red, yellow and blue silk, satin and cloth together, put them on a sturdy thong, tie them firmly on the waist, and tie a layer tightly on the waistline, waistband and bottom of the waistband of wrestling, so that the colorful cloth can hang down and shake with every movement. Coupled with this strange costume, they will often give you an invincible lion.
(3) Start the bundle
The boots worn by wrestlers are no different from those in peacetime, but their functions seem to be different. This is to protect the feet, make people stand firm and give full play to all kinds of wrestling skills. I was afraid it would slip off, so I kicked it hard and had to prick it several times with a strong thong. This is a bundle of boots, about six feet long and two centimeters wide. One end is tied with a copper ring, an iron ring, or a dead buckle.
(4) Leg binding
Muqin wrestlers in Ujimuqin Banner have one characteristic. The technique of "tripping and kicking" is very common. In order to protect their calves, they invented leggings. Unpack the bamboo box containing brick tea, cut the bamboo into bamboo grates, starting from the ankle and winding around below the knee. This is leggings.
(5) pants
Shepherds usually go out on horseback. In order to protect their pants and warm their knees, they also wear pants. But the pants worn by wrestlers have basically become decorations. Beginners, in particular, must use colorful satin as the material, embroider the edges with various tapestries and gold and silver threads, and then draw various patterns of four males, bats and swastikas by means of embroidery and pasting, which look like the armor worn on the legs of military commanders in the play. The trousers inside are also very fat, and there are countless folds on the sheep's stomach. It is said that they also protect the crotch.
(6) Auspicious belt
This is a ribbon around the wrestler's neck. The more you wear, the more times you win. Although this ribbon is only one finger wide, it is not given casually. It was presented together with the prize. Sixty-four wrestlers win the championship, and Bu Kui can get a triangular auspicious belt (half a silk). Bukui, who won the championship among 128 wrestlers, can get a knotted silk hada.
Wuzhumuqin has the custom of making auspicious belts. Bu Kui, who has won many championships and is over 500 years old, will pass on his wrestling vest and good luck to his promising descendants and budding novices in the countryside and hold an interesting ceremony. Generally speaking, at large gatherings (such as Nadam), with the prior approval of superiors, one or two people or several pairs of people will be named honorary Bukui. At that time, these people came to the meeting place, dressed neatly, and fell down on each other three times. However, this is not a competition, but a performance. It will be a draw in the end, and then stand in front of the rostrum. The host will briefly introduce their life stories and past honors, and give them awards. The prize is the same as or similar to that of Bukui, who is about to win the championship this time. Bukui, who won the prize, should take off his vest and auspicious belt on the spot and put it on the selected successor. I wish him a good ranking in the competition and live up to the expectations of the older generation. The award given this time is the last award that these Bukui won in their lives, and it is also their last time to participate in the competition. After this ceremony, the wrestling competition officially began.
