Gansu Iron and Steel Vocational and Technical College (Jiugang Staff and Workers College) set up by Jiugang Group Company was founded on 1979 and 1982, approved by Gansu Provincial People's Government and put on record by the Ministry of Education, and became a staff and workers college. In 2005, the school applied to rebuild the ordinary higher vocational college-Gansu Iron and Steel Vocational and Technical College, which has passed the evaluation of the evaluation committee of higher education institutions in Gansu Province and was approved by the Gansu Provincial People's Government.
In 2002, the school and Gansu Metallurgical Higher Technical College jointly run a school, forming an education and training base which integrates the functions of higher education, technician senior technician education, senior technician education, staff training, special operation training, vocational skill appraisal, vocational introduction and employment service. In 2002, the College was awarded the National Training Base for High-skilled Talents in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, and in 2005, it was awarded the National Advanced Vocational Education Unit by seven ministries and commissions including the Ministry of Education.
The school is located in Jiayuguan City, Gansu Province, the western steel city, covering an area of 6.5438+0.3 million square meters (about 6.5438+0.95 mu), with a construction area of 40,000 square meters and fixed assets of nearly 100 million yuan. Education and training, book reading, experimental practice, life service, fitness and entertainment facilities are complete, and the campus environment is beautiful, clean and tree-lined.
There are 25 laboratories and demonstration rooms, 20 training rooms, 1 1 computer room and campus local area network, with 45,000 sets (pieces) of equipment such as CNC lathes, CNC machining centers, various welding machines, automobile inspection, simulated elevators, hydraulic devices, dynamic balancing machines, circuit fault simulation devices of machine tools, electric intelligent platforms, steelmaking and ironmaking simulation devices.
