In 2023, the preliminary examination results of postgraduate entrance examination have been strictly reviewed by Anhui Education Admissions Examination Institute and Hefei University of Technology. Candidates may apply for a second interview if they disagree with the preliminary results.

The school was founded in 1945 and has changed its name several times. 1958 was officially named Hefei university of technology, and 1960 was approved by the central government as a national key university. After the merger and reorganization with Anhui Institute of Technology and Anhui Institute of Water Conservancy and Electric Power, it successively belonged to the Ministry of Higher Education, the Ministry of Machinery Industry, the Ministry of Mechanical and Electronic Industry and the Ministry of Education. As of June 2022, the school covers a total area of more than 5,000 mu, with Tunxi Road Campus, Emerald Lake Campus, Lu 'an Road Campus and Intelligent Manufacturing Technology Research Institute of Hefei University of Technology in Hefei.
