The college focuses on tourism higher vocational and technical education, supplemented by normal higher education. It has formed a school-running pattern of general higher vocational education, adult higher education and vocational training. It is Yichang Basic Education Cadre and Teacher Training Center, Municipal Putonghua Training and Testing Center, National Vocational Skills Appraisal Training and Examination Base, National College English Band 4 and Band 6 and National Computer Rank Examination Center.
