In order to bridge the gap between overseas Chinese communities and promote exchanges and friendship among overseas Chinese through sports, he ran around again and again, talking with the heads of various communities, and finally helped the overseas Chinese delegations in the Netherlands to join hands and held the "First All-Dutch Chinese Games" in Utrecht in 1984, so that they could speak Cantonese, Wenzhou dialect, Mandarin, Dutch, Surinamese and Indonesian. On this basis, he and other overseas Chinese leaders continued their efforts and initiated the establishment of the All-Dutch Chinese Joint Sports Association in 1986, which not only made the activity of "meeting friends with balls" flourish year by year, but also made the annual sports meeting a traditional activity in Iowa society. By 1994, the first overseas Chinese sports meeting with more than 1,000 athletes was held in Amsterdam. In recognition of Hu's contribution to sports in the Netherlands, the Sports Federation awarded him the highest honorary title of "Forever Honorary President" with 1993. In order to help Chinese restaurants get out of the predicament and improve the competitiveness of Chinese food industry in the Netherlands, Hu, with the active support of other overseas Chinese leaders, tried to restore and rebuild the Sino-Dutch catering industry association and became a branch of the Royal Dutch Catering Industry Association. The guild paid attention to practical things, and invited a chef from China to take charge of cooking classes, and trained nearly 2,000 qualified chefs from China. Actively dredge government departments and urge them to agree to let many Chinese restaurants introduce chefs from China to improve the quality of cooking; And has done a lot of work to protect the legitimate rights and interests of members. In view of Hu's contribution to the development of Chinese food industry in the Netherlands, the Royal Dutch Restaurant Association awarded him the highest honorary title of honorary chairman of the Royal Dutch China Restaurant Association on 1992.

In order to lead overseas Chinese out of the narrow world of catering business for decades and improve their political and economic status in the host country, Hu first took the lead in establishing Yuhu International Trade Import and Export Company, and then jointly established OO Dutch Chinese Investment Holding Co., Ltd., the first Chinese economic group in Dutch history, with Bi Chuanyou and more than a dozen Chinese businessmen. Through the development in import and export, real estate and other fields, this economic group has made a useful attempt to explore new ways of economic development in China. The establishment of the European Federation of Overseas Chinese Associations In order to unite all overseas Chinese associations in the Netherlands, 1988, Hu, who once again served as the seventh president of overseas Chinese associations in the Netherlands, initiated the establishment of the All-China Federation of Overseas Chinese Associations through continuous talks and consultations with the heads of other overseas Chinese organizations, and still serves as the honorary chairman of this Federation.

The birth of the European Federation of Overseas Chinese Associations devoted all his efforts.

As a patriotic overseas Chinese leader, Hu's heart is closely linked with the development of the motherland, and he has been making unremitting efforts to bridge the gap between China and the Netherlands in the fields of economy, science and technology, culture and so on. In order to introduce Dutch advanced agricultural technology and equipment into China, he cooperated with nine famous greenhouse manufacturing companies, greenhouse complete automation system company, vegetable seed company and bulb seed company in 1994, and established Dutch-Chinese Agricultural Equipment Technology Co., Ltd. (HCU) to promote Dutch advanced greenhouse technology to China. With its own strength and influence, Dutch-Chinese Agricultural Equipment Technology Co., Ltd., with him as its chairman, has made great contributions to Sino-Dutch agricultural technology exchange. China leaders, Li Ruihuan, Qian Qichen, Chen, and dozens of agricultural delegations from Shanghai, Zhejiang, Anhui, Beijing and Shandong have visited the Netherlands. With the increasing economic and trade exchanges between China and the Netherlands, entrepreneurs from both countries hope to have a special organization that can provide them with information, facilitate communication and help them analyze the market and find business opportunities. Seeing this situation, Hu sized up the situation and proposed to establish the Dutch-Chinese Chamber of Commerce. With the support of the Embassy of China in the Netherlands, The Hague Municipal Government, The Hague Chamber of Commerce and entrepreneurs from both countries, the Chamber of Commerce was announced in September 1999, with Hu personally as its president.
