Yunnan Vocational College of Land and Resources is an independent full-time general higher vocational college, one of the first two full-time higher vocational colleges established in Yunnan Province, one of the first pilot units of modern apprenticeship system in China, and one of the first two "Yunnan Demonstration Higher Vocational Colleges" under key construction in Yunnan Province.

The school was founded in 1958, which originated from the Technical School of Yunnan Geological Department. In April, 20001year, it merged and reorganized on the basis of technical school of Yunnan Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources and staff college of Yunnan Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources.

In April 2023, the official website of the school showed that the school had three campuses, namely Yangzonghai, Economic Development Zone and Wuding, covering an area of *** 105 1 mu. There are 9 teaching colleges and 60 majors; There are 520 teaching staff in the school, and the total number of students reaches 14768 (data as of June 20021year).
