1. Why did you choose Islamic Studies and Middle East Studies at Edinburgh University?
The University of Edinburgh offers degree courses in 16 language and joint language courses in excess of 140. This creates a diverse, unique, exciting and inspiring environment for language learning. Our teaching staff are also very active researchers, who have gained the same passion and world-class professional knowledge in the excellent research framework of 20 14. Edinburgh University enjoys a high reputation in teaching Islam and the history, culture, language and literature of the Middle East. For example, Arabic has been taught here since the middle of18th century. We are the only university in Scotland that offers courses in three major languages of the Muslim world (Arabic, Persian and Turkish). We welcome beginners who have no knowledge of these languages.
Two. Introduction to Islamic Studies and Middle East Studies Courses
Through the study of language, literature, culture and history to explore the past and present, Islamic studies and Middle East studies provide comprehensive training in history, with emphasis on critical and analytical skills. Our courses in this field include discussion of key issues, practice of applied concepts, discussion and writing, analysis and interpretation of materials, and feedback meetings of course assignments.
Third, the annual course introduction
1 Introduction to Grade Course:
You will take courses to learn Middle Eastern languages, including Arabic, Persian or Turkish. According to your course, you will also study Islamic history, Islam, modern Middle East history and/or Islamic and Middle East culture, as well as two elective courses.
Introduction to the second grade course:
In Islamic Studies (Honors) at MIT, you will study Islam, the introduction of Islam and Middle Eastern culture, and the elective courses you choose. In the honor course of Middle East Studies, you will study modern Middle East history and choose courses. You can continue your language study and choose Arabic 2, Persian 2 or Turkish 2 as needed.
Introduction to the third grade course:
You will continue to study a series of courses related to Islam or the Middle East, including historical, political, religious or cultural studies. Generally, you can get the opportunity to study abroad.
Introduction to the fourth grade course:
You will continue to receive honorary courses in various related options in the university. You will also complete your thesis on the topic of your choice under the guidance of academic consultants.

1. Is there an extra charge?
Students studying abroad will incur extra expenses. Erasmus+ grants can be used by participating students to help pay for the extra expenses of studying and living abroad.
2. Our facilities
The course will be held in the central area of the university. You can fully use the university's computer facilities and library, which contains professional resources and a series of Islamic manuscripts.

In the third grade, you can generally choose one of the two English universities in Istanbul, Bo? A Zi? Bilgi or I will exchange Erasmus+ (but please note that this depends on the advice of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office).

1. How will I study?
This course is taught through a combination of lectures, tutorials and seminars. In the whole process, we encourage students to read independently to supplement and consolidate the contents of formal professors and broaden their personal knowledge and understanding of the subject.
2. What would I say?
You will be evaluated through exams and course assignments, including papers, exercises and demonstrations. You will also finish your thesis in the last year.
