Sexual medicine is an important part of modern medical system. For medical students, to establish a complete medical knowledge system, scientific and systematic sexual health education and sexual medical knowledge training are essential. At present, many medical staff engaged in clinical work often feel responsibility and pressure when patients encounter sexual problems. There are two main reasons for this: one is to avoid it because of traditional ethics, and the other is to be helpless because of not having received sex education. Therefore, it is urgent to carry out systematic sexual medicine education and training for medical students, which is not only the need for their healthy physical and mental growth, but also the need for their future career.

Therefore, starting from the reality of sexual medicine education in China, the Textbook Office of the Ministry of Health organized some domestic sexual medicine experts to compile this planned sexual medicine textbook. The editor-in-chief is responsible for drafting the outline and coordinating the work, and the editorial board collectively discusses the structure and content of the textbook. * * * is divided into thirteen chapters, introducing the development history of sexual medicine, the basis of sexual biology, the basis of sexual psychology, the basis of sexual sociology, sexual and sexual dysfunction in various stages of life cycle, the practice of sexual counseling and sexual therapy, sex and disease, sex and drugs and sexually transmitted diseases, with special attention to same-sex love.
