The standard and way of men bowing;
Palm outward
Make a fist with your right hand.
Put the palm of your left hand in your bag and make a fist with your right hand.
Get to your chest, put your hands together and stand up.
Shake your fist gently three times.
In ancient times, the left hand was respected, and the left hand was on it, indicating sincerity and respect. This bow represents auspicious worship, and vice versa. Bai Ji is used to salute New Year greetings, while fierce worship is used for funerals.
Although bowing does not need to be as rigorous as in ancient times, the correct bowing posture represents respect for others, especially on some important occasions.
In ancient times, there were many ways to salute besides bowing.
For example, a woman's "Wan Fu" only needs to put her hands together, put them on her right hip and bow slightly at the same time. Like bowing, this greeting has existed for a long time in history.
However, besides hail, it is also feasible for women to bow when they meet. According to Duan Yucai's Notes on Explaining Words, ancient women could bow when they met. However, when a woman bows, her left hand is inside, her right hand is outside, her left hand is clenched, and her right hand is upright, which is just the opposite of the posture of a man bowing.
