What are the requirements for applying for an international welding engineer?
First, the standard access conditions:

Graduated from a regular engineering college, bachelor degree or above.

Second, the training content

According to iiw-can-TC-001-1999, the contents are as follows:

1 welding foundation

2 Practice and demonstration

Three main courses:

1) welding technology and equipment

2) Materials and welding performance of materials

3) Welding structure and design

4) Welding production and application

The course covers: international (ISO), European (EN), American (ASME), German (DIN) standards and regulations, advanced welding technology in Europe and the practical experience of famous domestic experts in scientific research and production.

Alternative Path for International Welding Engineers (IWE-A)

In order to promote the international unified welder qualification in the world as soon as possible, the International Welding Society put forward a "self-selection method", that is, to recognize the students' previous study, knowledge and work experience, and to shorten the training hours or directly take the final exam to obtain certificates for those who have passed the technical examination. The specific implementation measures are as follows:

I. Optional admission conditions:

1, graduated from engineering.

2. At least four years of engineering experience related to welding in the past six years. CANB will review the admission qualification according to the application form submitted above.

Second, the training content:

The training content of the whole course includes:

1, welding technology and equipment

2, materials and welding behavior of materials

3. Welding structure and design

4. Production and application

Before the training, conduct written and oral technical evaluation to determine what each student needs to participate in the training. The training time is generally 3 weeks. Under special circumstances, the technical examination of a single subject is unqualified, and the corresponding training time needs to be extended.

Examination and certificate: after the whole training process, we will take the examination according to the requirements of IWE examination, and those who pass the examination will be awarded the qualification certificate of international welding engineer.

Cooperate with universities to train students and qualification certification.

According to the training regulations of IIW IWE, CANB has made a strict training plan for cooperation with universities and conducted intensive training in its spare time. Those who pass the examination can obtain the qualification certificate of international welding engineer. This method of combining college basic theory education with pre-job training not only enhances students' theoretical knowledge, but also enables students to understand and master the technical regulations and international standards of welding industry, improves their ability to solve practical problems, and obtains professional qualifications in advance, thus increasing students' employment opportunities and saving the time of pre-job training. Harbin Welding Technology Training Center cooperated with Harbin Institute of Technology to successfully train and examine students. At present, we are cooperating with Jilin University, Southwest Jiaotong University and other universities to carry out this training work, which has been affirmed by schools, students and their employers.

First, the entrance requirements of students in school:

Bachelor degree or above, major in welding or related field in regular engineering colleges.

Second, the training content

According to the procedure of iiw-can-TC-001-2001,the contents are as follows:

1 welding foundation (which can be included in undergraduate teaching content)

2 Practice and demonstration

Three main courses (emphasizing the application of standards and regulations through examples of welding manufacturing):

1) welding technology and equipment

2) Materials and welding performance of materials

3) Welding structure and design

4) Welding production and application

The course covers: international (ISO), European (EN), American (ASME), German (DIN) standards and regulations, advanced welding technology in Europe and the practical experience of famous domestic experts in scientific research and production.

Three. Examinations and certificates

The exam includes a written test and an oral test. Those who pass the examination will be awarded the qualification certificate of international welding engineer.
