Jingchu Institute of Technology, located in Jingmen City, Hubei Province, is a provincial public full-time undergraduate college. It is the first batch of pilot schools for the transformation and development of local undergraduate colleges in Hubei Province and the first batch of key universities in the "Hubei Province 20 1 1 Plan", with the management system of "co-construction of provinces and cities (Jingmen) and provincial focus".
Jingchu Institute of Technology was approved by the Ministry of Education in March 2007. Shayang Teachers College founded by 1956 and Jingmen Vocational and Technical College founded by 1984 were merged.

Two predecessors
1, Jingmen Vocational and Technical College
1984 August 2 1, Jingmen Vocational University was established;
1990 March 15. Jingmen Vocational College merged with Jingmen Radio and TV University and Jingmen Normal School to form "Jingmen University". After the merger, the education and training tasks and academic system undertaken by the original three schools remain unchanged;
1June 998 16, Jingmen Vocational College was renamed as Jingmen Vocational and Technical College, and on June 23, Jingmen Health School was merged into Jingmen Vocational and Technical College;
In May 2003, 16, Jingmen Petrochemical School of China Petrochemical Company was merged into Jingmen Vocational and Technical College;
In April, 2006, Jingmen Vocational and Technical College won the "excellent" grade in the evaluation of talent training in higher vocational colleges of the Ministry of Education.
2. Shayang Teachers College
1February, 956, Shayang Normal School was established, belonging to the former Jingzhou area.
1966- 1976, the school suffered a "cultural revolution" and suffered major setbacks. 1966 was forced to suspend classes, 197 1 resumed enrollment and started one-year and two-year professional courses.
1983, the prefecture-level Jingmen City was established, and the school was placed under the leadership of Jingmen City;
1993, with the approval of the former state education commission, the school launched the "experiment of training primary school teachers with junior college degree" and jointly run the school with the former Jingzhou Normal University;
On March 28th, 2000, the Ministry of Education issued a document approving the establishment of Shayang Teachers College on the basis of Shayang Teachers College.
