Sichuan Conservatory of Music is located in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. Its predecessor was "Sichuan Drama Music Experimental School" founded by 1939. This school is a provincial full-time undergraduate college with "art" as its main feature, one of the national 1 1 independent professional music colleges, one of the national 3 1 independent art colleges, and a master's degree awarding unit.
The school has three campuses in Wuhou, Xindu and Kong Lin Economic Zone, with a total area of 1500 mu, 24 teaching departments and 10 scientific research institutions. The school-running level covers postgraduate education, undergraduate education, adult education and secondary art education, and it is one of the eleven independent professional conservatories in China.
Academic and exchange achievements of the school:
The school has established cooperative relations with more than 40 overseas universities in more than 10 countries, and has sent more than 300 students abroad to study and pursue their degrees. Every year, more than 200 undergraduates participate in various overseas exchange programs.
The school has several provincial-level key academic research platforms, such as China-Central and Eastern Europe Youth Art Talent Training and Practice Center, Southwest Music Research Center, Sichuan Music Art Popularization Base and China Traditional Music Research Institute, and has established academic research institutions such as China-US Visual Arts Performance Center with foreign academic institutions in China. The school has won the second prize of national scientific and technological progress, national invention award, provincial teaching achievement award and provincial philosophy and social science award.
