The college is located in the cultural and educational area of Zeng Cuo An Village Village on the east coast of Xiamen. At present, the campus covers an area of 1 10 mu. Jimei New Campus (Phase I) was completed in 2008, with a campus area of 326.87 mu. The college has an existing building area of 24,600 square meters. After the first phase of Jimei New Campus is completed in 2008, the total construction area will reach 94 1 000 square meters. At present, it has 32 on-campus laboratories and 40 off-campus training bases, including computer room, electronic electrician, electronic skills, basic electrician technology, computer assembly, single chip microcomputer, software, network, PLC, automobile inspection and maintenance, high-frequency circuit, modern communication, accounting process simulation and comprehensive financial training, and the library has 469,000 books (including 6,543,800+0,320,000 e-book reading rooms). There are also foreign language laboratories, audio-visual rooms, multimedia classrooms, reading rooms, student activity centers, restaurants, sports fields and other facilities. The major construction direction of the school takes engineering as the leader and finance as the main body, including humanities (including English) major. It is equipped with computer application technology, applied electronics technology, computer network technology, communication technology, automobile inspection and maintenance technology, electrical automation technology, mechatronics, automobile electronics technology, financial management and practice, insurance practice, industrial and commercial enterprise management, e-commerce, accounting, accounting and statistical accounting, finance and securities, and logistics management. And signed cooperation and exchange agreements with Illinois Central College and Hong Kong College to exchange teachers and students and introduce foreign high-quality educational resources.
The college implements the dean responsibility system under the leadership of the board of directors. The current chairman is Cai, former chairman of Xiamen CPPCC, and the current president is Professor Zheng, a senior educator, economic historian and former executive vice president of Xiamen University. The college has full-time teachers 135, of which 24.4% are teachers with senior titles and 3826 are students (as of June 2007). The college attaches great importance to practice, experiment, practical training, internship and other teaching links, and the professional focus is to cultivate practical talents who adapt to the economic and technological development in the first two decades of the 2/kloc-0 century.
