In the 29th year of Kangxi (1690), Wang Jiwen, the governor of Yunnan, visited this place and took a fancy to its lakes and mountains. He ordered the Engineering Department to build the Ploughing Pavilion, the Tang Jia Pavilion, the Meng Mu Pavilion, the Moon Leakage Pavilion, the Chengbitang Pavilion and the Daguanlou Pavilion near the flower garden.
There are pavilions, terraces, buildings, pavilions, peach trees and willow trees along the embankment, which are planted in Zhu Lan, Jiaoduji, Tiswan, Guanjin Port, Fujian Island, Yiyichuan, Yibeixi, Hezhou Pavilion and fishing village, and decorated with lakes and mountains. After the pavilion was built, he found that standing upstairs, at first glance, the blue waves rippled and the fishing sails dotted, which was refreshing.
In the eighth year of Daoguang (1828), Zhai Guangjin, the provincial judge of Yunnan Province, presided over the renovation of Daguan Building, adding the original two floors to three floors. When Kannonji monk rebuilt Kannonji with quiet music, he was on the third floor of five rooms in Yan Jianhua Pavilion behind the temple, which was higher than other parts of the Grand View Building. Pure music and good poetry couplets, when Huayan Pavilion was completed, carved a pair of long couplets, called "pure music long couplets".

In the seventh year of Xianfeng (1857), the "Hui uprising" in Yunnan attacked Kunming from three sides: east, south and west, and the eastern Hui people Ma Dexin, Ma Rulong and Xu Yuanji led the southern Yunnan Hui uprising army to attack Kunming. On may 2 1 day, the rebels in southern Yunnan entered Kunming and fought with the Qing army guarding the city. The six streets and three cities outside Nancheng were ablaze.
The Hui people who attacked by boat from Dianchi Lake in the south set fire to Daguanlou, Guanyin Pavilion and Huayan Pavilion when they passed the flower garden.
In the third year of Tongzhi (1864), Ma Rulong, the governor of Yunnan Province, presided over the reconstruction of Daguanlou, which lasted for two years, and wrote a handwritten note on the reconstruction of Daguanlou. The existing Daguanlou was rebuilt in Tongzhi for three years (1864). ?
