Chief physician, professor. /kloc-studied Chinese medicine with his father Guan Youbo at the age of 0/6, and practiced medicine independently at the age of 27. 1950 participated in the joint outpatient service of traditional Chinese medicine, and was transferred from 1956 to Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. 1979 was promoted to professor of Beijing Second Medical College. He used to be the director and vice president of the internal medicine department of Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, a representative of Chongwen District People's Congress and a member of CPPCC. He is currently the executive director of the National Society of Traditional Chinese Medicine, honorary president of the Beijing Society of Traditional Chinese Medicine, chairman of the Internal Medicine Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, and member of the Academic Committee of the Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He once worked in dozens of medical academic organizations at home and abroad, and was recognized by state administration of traditional chinese medicine as a national tutor who inherited the experience of old Chinese medicine experts, and a famous contemporary old Chinese medicine practitioner.

Clinically, he is good at treating intractable diseases in internal and external medicine, gynecology, pediatrics and other disciplines, especially in the treatment of hepatobiliary diseases. He summed up his experience in treating jaundice through "ten methods of treating liver" and "resolving phlegm, promoting blood circulation and detoxifying".
In terms of personnel training, from the first national middle class of western learning to the postgraduate class of traditional Chinese medicine, Guan Lao personally gave lectures and guidance. As a national instructor, I officially brought three apprentices. Nearly a hundred disciples at home and abroad worshipped him as a teacher, and many of them became the backbone of traditional Chinese medicine, which can be said to be full of peaches and plums. Guan Lao has a wide range of interests, and piano, chess, calligraphy and painting are omnipotent. Chinese painting peony is his specialty.
