Fuling District is one of the jurisdictions of Chongqing, which is located in the middle of Chongqing and the hinterland of the Three Gorges reservoir area. Located at the intersection of the Yangtze River and Wujiang River, it has always been called the gateway to southeast Sichuan.
Economically, it is located at the junction of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, Chengdu-Chongqing Twin Cities Economic Circle, Wujiang Mainstream Development Zone and Wuling Mountain Poverty Alleviation Development Zone, and has a strategic position of connecting the east with the west and radiating along the Yangtze River and Wujiang River. It is an important strategic fulcrum city of Chongqing metropolitan area, the core city of Chongqing one-hour economic circle and the eastern central city of Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Zone.
The word Fuling is taken from "the bank of Fucheng River, the tomb of Wang Ba". During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, it was the capital of Pakistan, and the county was established in the thirtieth year of the King of Qin (277 BC).
