1. Characteristics and welding difficulties of aluminum alloy materials in the welding process:

1, the thermal conductivity is very large, about 2 to 4 times that of steel, and the heat resistance is very poor. General aluminum alloy is not resistant to high temperature.

Aluminum alloy sheet with large expansion coefficient is prone to welding deformation and obvious welding crack tendency, and the thinner it is.

The harder it is to weld, the easier it is to weld through.

2, aluminum alloy welding is easy to produce porosity, because before the weld is formed, the hydrogen in the molten pool cannot be discharged.

There are air holes in the weld.

3. When the surface of aluminum alloy is directly exposed to air, it is particularly easy to produce a layer of refractory oxidation model (composed of trioxide)

1 Requirements for welding equipment:

First of all, talk about the welding equipment when using MIG/MAG welding method. MIG/MAG welding machine for welding aluminum alloy must have pulse function, including single pulse and double pulse. It is best to weld aluminum alloy with double pulse. Double pulse is simply the superposition of two pulses, and a fixed high-frequency pulse is superimposed on a low-frequency pulse, which is high-frequency pulse low-frequency modulation. A low-frequency pulse is added to the high-frequency pulse, so that the double-pulse current switches between the peak current and the base current at a certain frequency (the frequency of the low-frequency pulse), and a regular fish-scale pattern is formed in the weld. In the welding process, the weld formation is improved by adjusting the frequency, peak value and base current of low-frequency pulse. Firstly, adjusting the frequency of low-frequency pulse determines the switching speed of double-pulse peak current and base current, which is reflected in the fine fitting degree of weld fish scales, the slow switching speed of low-frequency pulse, double-pulse peak current and base current, and the large distance between fish scales. On the contrary, the low-frequency pulse frequency is high, the switching speed between the double-pulse peak current and the base current is fast, and the distance between weld scales is small and thin. The corresponding penetration depth can be obtained by adjusting the peak current and the base current according to the thickness of the plate. In the process of switching the peak current and the base current, the molten pool can be effectively stirred, and hydrogen can be discharged to reduce porosity. Reduce the heat input to the base material, prevent the aluminum alloy material from overheating to produce expansion deformation, and refine the weld structure, thus improving the weld strength.

2 Matters needing attention in welding aluminum alloy:

(1) Before welding aluminum alloy, the surface of aluminum alloy should be cleaned, free of oil stain and dust. It can be cleaned with acetone.

Clean the welding surface of aluminum alloy. Clean the thick aluminum alloy with a wire brush, and then add acetone to clean it.

(2) The choice of welding wire should be as close as possible to the parent metal, and the choice of aluminum-silicon or aluminum-magnesium welding wire should be decided according to the requirements of welding seam. in addition

Al-Mg welding wire can only weld Al-Mg materials, while Al-Si welding wire can weld Al-Si and Al-Mg materials.

(3) When the plate is thick, it needs to be preheated to prevent incomplete penetration caused by insufficient preheating.
