There are six regional waterway bureaus in seven provinces and two cities along the Yangtze River, including Nanjing, Wuhan, Yichang, Chongqing, Luzhou and Yibin, and there are 80 waterway management offices under its jurisdiction. There are four waterway engineering bureaus in Nanjing, Wuhan, Yichang and Chongqing, and four supporting units such as scientific research, training, surveying and salvage. It maintains the main channel of the Yangtze River, which is 2,688 kilometers from Yibin, Sichuan to Liuhekou, Jiangsu. It also maintains the sea channel, slow-flow channel, harbor channel, ferry channel and some tributary channels, with a total mileage of 4,050 kilometers and more than 5,300 navigation marks.
The Yangtze River Waterway Bureau currently has more than 8,000 employees, including 4 experts/kloc-0 who enjoy special government allowance, and nearly 2,000 middle and senior technicians. It holds the qualification certificate of first-class construction enterprise for general contracting of waterway engineering issued by the Ministry of Construction and the first-class license for surveying and mapping issued by the State Bureau of Surveying and Mapping, and has passed the certification of integrated management system of quality, environment and occupational health and safety (Q/E/OHS).
The Yangtze River Waterway Bureau is committed to the maintenance and management of the Yangtze River Waterway, while actively carrying out foreign engineering management. Over the years, with strong technical strength, scientific management and good reputation, we have undertaken a number of large-scale engineering design and construction tasks, and our business has spread all over the world.
At present, under the guidance of the country's "four comprehensive" strategic layout, and in accordance with the guiding opinions of relying on golden waterways to promote the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, the Yangtze River Waterway Bureau is fully implementing the deployment of the Ministry of Transport to be the vanguard of economic and social development, actively deepening reforms, striving to accelerate development, and in accordance with the overall construction idea of "deep downstream, smooth midstream, and extended upstream", it is fully renovating the navigable reach and vigorously promoting the construction of the Yangtze River digital waterway and intelligent waterway.
