Fengtai District belongs to Beijing and is one of the six major districts in Beijing. Located in the south of Beijing, it borders Chaoyang District in the east and Dongcheng District and Xicheng District in the north.
Haidian District borders Shijingshan District and Mentougou District in the northwest, Fangshan District in the southwest and Daxing District in the southeast. Jurisdiction over 24 streets and 2 towns.
1952, wanping county was abolished and Fengtai District, Nanyuan District and Shijingshan District were established, which were subordinate to Beijing. From 65438 to 0958, Nanyuan District and Shijingshan District were mostly merged into Fengtai District. In July, 1963, Shijingshan office was established. 1August, 967, the organizational system of Shijingshan District was restored, and the Shijingshan Commune set aside Fengtai District.
Yongding River flows through Fengtai District, dividing Fengtai into Hedong and Hexi areas, and forming Shilian Lake, Yuanbo Lake, Xiaoyue Lake and Wanping Lake from north to south along the river. There are many scenic spots in Fengtai District.
Famous scenic spots include Beijing Garden Expo, China People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression Memorial Hall, Dabaotai Western Han Tomb Museum, Lianhuachi Park, China Garden Museum, Beijing Happy Water Cube and Water Amusement Park.
