Zhengzhou Kindergarten Normal School was founded in 1954. It is the first preschool normal school in Henan Province after the founding of New China, and it is also one of the first seven independent preschool normal schools in China. It is also the training center for preschool teachers and the research information center for preschool education in Henan Province. Zhengzhou Preschool Normal School is the third cooperation project between China and UNICEF to strengthen the training of preschool teachers, and the "Henan Kindergarten Teacher Training Center" has been established. The school is the only pre-test counseling institution for preschool teachers in Henan Province, the only continuing education base for preschool teachers in Henan Province, the training center for preschool teachers in Henan Province, and the qualification training unit for kindergarten directors in Henan Province. Henan Preschool Education Research Association is located in kindergarten teachers, and founded the only preschool education publication in Henan Province, Henan Preschool Education. The school is one of the first normal schools to pass the comprehensive evaluation of the running level of the provincial education commission and reach an excellent level. Undertake the task of continuing education for preschool teachers in provinces and cities, undertake 6 national key projects and 64 provincial and municipal scientific research projects. The school organized the compilation of multidisciplinary textbooks and preschool books for compulsory and elective courses for kindergarten teachers, which were adopted by many schools and kindergartens inside and outside the province.
