Zeng Guofan's second son, Zeng Zeng, was appointed by Yin after his father's death and served as the Langguan of the Ministry of War's Wu Xuan Department. He loves mathematics, and has written many mathematical monographs, such as Logarithmic Evaluation, Roundness Diagram, Subu Playing Grass and so on, which have been handed down from generation to generation. He is a famous mathematician in modern China, and he is proficient in astronomy, geography and maps.

Zeng Guangzhi 1943 graduated from the Department of Chemistry of The National SouthWest Associated University, 1948 studied at the University of Maryland, 1950 studied at the Department of Chemistry of Ohio State University, and 1952 obtained a master's degree. Since 1970s, he has been engaged in the research of taste chemistry and sweeteners, and published more than 60 papers, including Molecular Recognition of Taste. He has served as an associate researcher and researcher at Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
