As early as the spring of 1960, the relevant departments of Yangzhou municipal government approved the establishment of "Yangzhou Guangling Ancient Books Engraving Society", and convened more than 60 engraving artists to engage in the revision and printing of ancient books. To this end, the relevant leading departments of the province specially issued a document to collect Tibetan editions in the province, and borrowed some Tibetan editions from Zhejiang to be sorted, repaired and reprinted by Guangling Printing Society. Over the past few years, we have collected nearly 200,000 versions of ancient books and published more than100,000 books. During the "Cultural Revolution", the protection work was once destroyed, and the lettering society was forced to cancel. 1978, with the concern of the party and the government at all levels, Guangling Ancient Books Printing Society resumed and rebuilt in Fenghuang Street, Yangzhou. Some professionals have been recalled, and a group of new people have been trained, so that the engraving printing technology has been fully restored, a large number of ancient books have been repaired and printed, and a number of new versions of ancient books such as Listening to Li Tang Road have been newly printed, which has written a new glorious chapter in Yangzhou's engraving printing history and has been praised as "the treasure of Jiangsu" and even "the treasure of the country" at home and abroad.
In 2002, with the approval of the General Administration of Press and Publication, Guangling Bookstore was established on the basis of engraving society, which enabled it to use the ancient engraving technology to carry out engraving publishing, photocopying ancient books and simulating reproduction of calligraphy and painting works.
In 2005, the municipal government invested 65.438+0.28 billion yuan to build a new Yangzhou China woodblock printing museum, which fully demonstrated the historical origin, technological process and outstanding achievements of woodblock printing and effectively promoted the inheritance and protection work. In addition, Guangling Ancient Books Engraving Society, Guangling Bookstore, Hanjiang Ancient Books Printing Factory and other units have set up engraving and printing workshops.
Yangzhou has also compiled and published a number of theoretical monographs on woodblock printing technology, and recorded woodblock printing technology in various ways, such as words and pictures, which is conducive to the wide spread of woodblock printing technology.
Yangzhou woodblock printing technology protection has been outstanding and achieved remarkable results. It integrates inheritance, protection, exhibition and dissemination, and establishes various channels such as quality inheritance, writing inheritance and teaching inheritance, forming a comprehensive and complete protection system, which can be called a model of "intangible heritage" protection.
