Requirements for manuscripts

(1) Submission method and general requirements

Submission must be reviewed by the unit where the first author or correspondent works, and a recommendation letter from the unit is attached. The recommendation letter should prove the authenticity of the contents and data of the manuscript, indicate the opinions on the manuscript, and indicate that the manuscript is not confidential, the name of the department is uncontroversial, and affix the official seal of the unit. If confidentiality issues are involved, the approval certificate of relevant departments shall be attached. If the manuscript has been published in academic journals in other languages, please explain it when submitting it.

What needs special explanation is that scientific research papers generally have the attributes of job works. In order to protect intellectual property rights, for original research papers, this journal requires that the recommendation letter of the manuscript should be issued by the unit that enjoys the intellectual property rights of the research (that is, the research project unit and the unit where the case materials are located), and the recommendation letter of multi-center research can be issued by the unit where the first author works or the correspondent who is the host of the research. Comments, summaries and forum articles are not subject to the above provisions.

Special note: Since 2009, our journal has officially launched the "Remote Manuscript Management System of Chinese Medical Association", and the previous methods of paper submission and email submission have been terminated.

When the author submits a manuscript for the first time through the remote manuscript management system of the Chinese Medical Association, please enter the information management platform of the Chinese Medical Association, register a new account, select "Apply to be a magazine author" after logging in, and then submit the manuscript according to the page prompts. After the submission is successful, the system will automatically generate the payment number. Authors can also apply to be the authors of multiple magazines with one account, and manage multiple manuscripts at the same time without repeated registration.

After the author successfully submitted the paper through the new system and obtained the book number, please send the unit recommendation letter of the paper and the manuscript preliminary examination fee to the editorial department of this journal (mailing address: editorial department of China Surgical Journal, No.42 Dongsi West Street, Beijing, postcode 1007 10). 50 yuan for each article. Please remit money by post office. Please be sure to indicate the system-generated manuscript number in the remittance postscript column.

If you have any questions about the operation of the system, you can click "Download the operating instructions of contributing authors" on the page to learn about the relevant information.

I want to know about the trial of the manuscript, which can be queried immediately in the new management system or published in the "manuscript query" column of this website.

In order to facilitate the editorial department to get in touch with the author in time when necessary, please indicate the contact information (telephone number or email address) of the first author or correspondent in the manuscript.

(2) Style and length

The manuscript should be scientific, innovative, practical and logical. It is required that the information is true and reliable, the data is accurate, and statistical processing should be carried out when necessary; Refined text, clear hierarchy, neat and standardized printing; The argument is clear, the argument is sufficient and the conclusion is clear. Special attention should be paid to the rigor of research process and method statement, the rigor of logical relationship and the fluency of written expression.

The number of words (including charts) of papers, summaries and lectures generally does not exceed 5000 words; Essays, technical exchanges, and experience in diagnosis and treatment generally do not exceed 1500 words; The case report shall not exceed 1000 words; Opinions, comments, meeting minutes, depending on the specific situation.

Those who only participate in obtaining funds for scientific research projects or collecting data cannot be classified as authors, and those who only manage scientific research teams cannot be classified as authors. At least 1 The author must be responsible for all the main conclusions in the article. If there are foreign authors among the authors, they should obtain their consent and provide corresponding supporting materials to the editorial department when submitting the manuscript. Collectively signed manuscripts should indicate the signing unit under the title, the name of the organizer at the end of the paper, the main person in charge of the article, and the author's name, unit, postal code and e-mail address in the footnote on the first page of the paper. Generally, the author of communication only lists 1, which is determined by the author. If you need to indicate the members of the collaboration group, list the units and names of the members of the collaboration group before the references at the end of the article.

(5) Abstract

Papers should be accompanied by Chinese and English abstracts and written in a structured abstract format. The third person should be adopted, and the content should include the research purpose, methods, main findings (including key or main data) and main conclusions, with the subheadings of purpose, methods, results and conclusions respectively. There are no charts, references, comments and explanations in the abstract. Since this journal has been included in several internationally renowned retrieval systems such as MEDLINE, in order to facilitate foreign readers to understand the important contents of this study and enhance foreign exchanges, Chinese abstracts can be concise (generally within 400 words) and English abstracts can be relatively specific (generally within 600 substantive words), so as to appropriately increase the amount of information in English. The English abstract should include the title, the author's name (in Chinese Pinyin, the surname is capitalized, the first name is capitalized, and a hyphen is added between the two names), the name of the unit, the name of the city where it is located, the postal code and the country name. All authors should be listed by name. If the author's work unit is different, only the communication author's work unit is listed, with "*" in the upper right corner of the communication author's name and "*" in the upper left corner of the initials of the communication author's work unit.

(6) Keywords

The manuscript of the paper needs to be indexed with 2 ~ 5 Chinese and English keywords. It should be selected from the MeSH database of NLM in the United States as far as possible, and its Chinese translation can refer to the annotation of medical subject words compiled by Institute of Information, China Academy of Medical Sciences. New technical terms (free words) that are not included in the glossary can be directly used as keywords and ranked last. Keywords of TCM should be selected from the Thesaurus of TCM Subject compiled by Institute of TCM Information, Chinese Academy of TCM. According to medical subject notes, abbreviations in keywords should be restored to full names. Use semicolons (; ) separation. Capitalize the first word of each English keyword.

(7) terminology

Medical terminology should use the terminology published by the National Committee for the Examination and Approval of Scientific and Technical Terminology. Terms of clinical diagnosis and treatment of traditional Chinese medicine, locations of acupoints, names and locations of auricular points, etc. Should follow the corresponding national standards. For terminology without universal translation, it should be indicated when the original text first appears in the text. The names of Chinese and western medicines shall be subject to the latest edition of People's Republic of China (PRC) Pharmacopoeia and General Names of Drugs in China (both edited by China Pharmacopoeia Committee). English drug names adopt international drug names. Generally, it is not allowed to use trade names in the titles and texts of traditional Chinese medicines. If it is really necessary to use a trade name, the common name should be indicated first. Signs, disease name, examination, syndrome, etc. Foreword names can be translated into Chinese, but there is no "yes" after the name (except for single-word names, such as hair follicles); You can also use foreign languages, but don't add "s" after your name. Abbreviations are used as little as possible in this article. Well-known abbreviations can be used directly without comments, such as DNA, RNA, HBsAg, PCR, CT, MRI, etc. Abbreviations that are not commonly used, are not well known and recognized, and the original words are too long and appear many times in the text. If it is Chinese, the full name can be written when the text first appears, and the abbreviation can be written in brackets; If it is a foreign language, you can write the Chinese full name when it first appears in the text, and write the foreign full name and its abbreviation in brackets. Don't use abbreviations for nouns with no more than 4 Chinese characters, so as not to affect the readability of the paper. Abbreviations in western languages shall not be disassembled and transferred.

(8) Chart

1. Picture: jpg format is recommended for the picture. Photos should have good clarity and contrast, and be coded continuously according to the order in which they appear in the text. Each picture should have a corresponding explanation and explanation. Explanatory text should be placed in the notes below the figure (table), and all non-public abbreviations used in the figure should be indicated in the notes. Histological (pathological) pictures should indicate the staining method and magnification. Photographs of gross specimens shall be marked with scale on the drawings. If the picture looks like a person, I should get my written consent or cover up the identifiable part. Line drawing should be clear and coherent, and the height-width ratio should be 5∶7.

2. Table: It is recommended to use a table with three horizontal lines (top line, top line and bottom line). If there are total and statistical processing contents (such as t value and p value, etc.). ), add a dividing line on this line; The data in the table requires the same number of significant digits of the same indicator, which is generally determined according to the standard deviation 1/3.

If pictures, tables or their contents are quoted from other periodicals and works, the source should be indicated.

(9) Units of measurement

This book implements the provisions and writing rules of quantity, unit and symbol in GB 3100 ~ 3102-1993 Quantity and Unit. For specific implementation, please refer to the Application of Legal Units of Measurement in Medicine edited by the Journal of Chinese Medical Association. Please note that company name and company symbol cannot be mixed. When the diagonal in the symbol of the combined unit exceeds 1, it should be expressed in the form of negative power, and the diagonal and negative power in the combined unit cannot be mixed, such as ng kg- 1 min- 1 instead of ng kg- 1 min-65438. The legal units of measurement should be listed first in the narrative, and the old units should be written in brackets; If the same unit of measurement appears repeatedly, you can indicate the conversion coefficient between the legal and old units when it appears for the first time, and then list only the legal unit of measurement value. The symbols of quantity are all in italics, such as the symbol "A" of absorbance (formerly called optical density). Blood pressure is still expressed in mmHg.

(10) number

Implement GB/T 15835- 1995 Provisions on the Use of Numbers in Publications. The century, year, year, month, day, hour, counting and measurement of the Gregorian calendar all use Arabic numerals. For the range and deviation of percentages, the percent sign of the preceding figures cannot be omitted, for example, 5% ~ 95% cannot be written as 5 ~ 95%, and (50.2 0.6)% cannot be written as 50.2 0.6%. The multiplication of numerical value and size unit is written as follows: 4cm×3cm×5cm, and cannot be written as 4×3×5cm3.

(1 1) statistical method

1. Statistical symbols: According to the relevant provisions of GB 3358- 1982 Statistical Terms and Symbols, all statistical symbols are in italics.

2. Research design: The name and main methods of the research design shall be informed. Such as survey design (divided into prospective, retrospective or cross-sectional survey research), experimental design (specific design types should be informed, such as self-paired design, grouping design, crossover design, factorial design, orthogonal design, etc. ), clinical trial design (which stage of clinical trial should be informed and what blind measures should be taken, etc.). ); The main methods should be outlined around four basic principles (repetition, randomness, contrast and balance), especially how to control the interference and influence of important non-experimental factors.

3. Representation and description of data: X S is used to represent quantitative data that approximately obeys normal distribution, and M(QR) is used to represent quantitative data that is skewed distribution; When using statistical tables, it is necessary to reasonably arrange vertical and horizontal headings and clearly express the meaning of data; When using statistical charts, the types of statistical charts used should match the data properties, and the marking method of scale values on the number axis should conform to mathematical principles; When using relative numbers, the denominator should not be less than 20, and attention should be paid to distinguishing percentages from percentages.

4. Selection of statistical analysis methods: For quantitative data, appropriate statistical analysis methods should be selected according to the design type, conditions and analysis purpose of the data, and T test and one-way ANOVA should not be blindly applied; For qualitative data, we should choose the appropriate statistical analysis method according to the design type, the nature of qualitative variables, the conditions of occurrence frequency and the purpose of analysis, and we should not blindly apply χ2 test. For regression analysis, we should combine professional knowledge and scatter plot to choose the appropriate regression type, and we should not blindly apply simple linear regression analysis; Regression analysis data with repeated experimental data should not be simplified; For multi-factor and multi-index data, on the basis of univariate analysis, multivariate statistical analysis method should be used as much as possible, so as to make a comprehensive and reasonable explanation and evaluation of the interaction between factors and the internal relationship between multi-indicators.

5. Interpretation and expression of statistical results: the specific names of statistical methods used (such as T-test of grouped design data, variance analysis of two-factor factorial design data, Q-test of pairwise comparison among multiple means, etc.). ) and the specific values of statistics (such as t=3.45, χ2=4.68, F=6.79, etc. ) explain it; When the value of p is expressed by inequality, generally choose P >;; 0.05, p < 0.05 and p

(12) References

The description format basically follows GB/T 77 14-2005 "Description Rules for References after Text". Using sequential coding system, records are marked with Arabic numerals in the order in which they appear in the text, and the serial numbers are placed in square brackets and arranged at the end of the text. Try to avoid quoting abstracts as a reference. Please check the quoted documents (including the original meaning of words and expressions) with the original text. Please write Japanese characters according to Japanese regulations, and don't confuse them with Chinese characters and simplified characters. There are no more than 3 authors of the same document, all of which are recorded; If there are more than three people, only the first three people can be recorded, followed by the word "wait". It can be supplemented by genre (English literature is represented by "et al"). The author's name is always the surname before the first name, and the names of foreign authors are in the form of initials, and there is no abbreviation after the first letter; Use ","to separate the names of different authors, and do not use conjunctions such as "and" and ". Abbreviations should be used for the names of foreign periodicals, and the format in the Medical Index shall prevail; Full name of Chinese periodicals. Each reference must record the start and end pages. Periodicals with continuous coding every year may not record the issue number. Examples are as follows:
