Appreciation of the Prose "The Distant Village"
I left the village, and the village is getting farther and farther away from me.

I spent my childhood, adolescence, youth and prime of life in the village, and most of my years were spent in the village. The village left me with good memories and bitter memories.

The days in the village are very long.

The people in the village are simple, warm and peaceful, and simplicity is mixed with ignorance and barbarism.

In my memory, the mountains, rivers, valleys and cliffs in my hometown are all beautiful. Woods, ditches, grass slopes and springs are all stations that accompany me to grow up.

Childhood is beautiful, and my hometown is beautiful, but I can only recall it, just like my childhood can't go back and my hometown can't go back. In fact, no one wants to go back to the lost years. The times are progressing and the society is developing. Have you ever thought of that stupid country life?

I don't know when I started, I want to change the ideological outlook of the village, but it's not easy. Deep-rooted old ideas, without long-term reform, how can they get better all at once?

I want to escape, I am dissatisfied with real life, so I choose to escape, leave this ignorant group and move towards a civilized social group, but where is the absolutely civilized social life? I gradually understand: you should be based on reality, and you can't go to Xanadu. Many people in history want to live in Xanadu, but no one has found success, so it is not reality, but imagination. If you want to live a modern civilized life, you must change the reality. First, you should change yourself, then your family, then the people around you, and then change the ideological outlook of the village. This will not happen overnight. You have to work hard for many years, so I chose the profession of teacher. Only by popularizing cultural knowledge and improving the ideological and cultural quality of the whole people can we change the ideological outlook of the countryside.

The education my father gave me was profound and cruel.

My father was an intellectual with religious education in the old society and was respected by the villagers for some time. In a small village, his words are very useful and people's worship of him is unacceptable. My father's nonsense is believed by the people, but I don't think my father has any knowledge, but he has learned a little religion and his cultivation is not high. I'm a little disgusted with this blind worship of the people. Later, the villagers began to oppose their father because he wanted to carry out religious reform and change the original religious etiquette and some specific details. The history of Christianity is a history of sectarian struggle, and the history of Islam is a history of bloody infighting. Without considerable experience in mass work, it is easy to cause bloodshed and sectarian struggle.

My father alone became the target of all the attacks in the village, and his family was trapped in an embattled situation. A few people accused me of blindly following the crowd and holding mass repression activities many times by virtue of the number of people. In the village, my father is not allowed to use electricity or drink well water. Those villagers who had a grudge against his father took the opportunity to make trouble and cause infighting. From blind worship to blind struggle, it shows the ignorance of the villagers and is simply boring and ridiculous.

The village has changed, the cultural knowledge in the village has been popularized, and the older generation has passed away. A new generation of people have a little cultural knowledge, go out, see the outside world, be more open-minded, no longer fight for teaching, and no longer struggle for those boring things.

I am glad that several college students have left the village, especially Ma Mei, a female college student. She came from a poor family and accepted donations from county and township cadres because of her excellent studies. She studied in Kunming in the distance, returned to her hometown smoothly, and was admitted to the national civil service. She is the Jiao Jiao of the village and the representative of intellectual women. She is the guiding light in the village.

Ma Xiang is my student. She just graduated from junior high school. Like the fate of other girls in the village, she couldn't stand the constant stream of matchmakers, so her parents had to agree to a marriage. The bride price has been delivered, and she is going to get married on another day. The girl refused to get married and wanted to continue her studies. This is the first one in the village. This kind of thing seldom happens in the ravine.

Later, Ma Xiang went to the township middle school to attend the remedial class, then admitted to the secondary school, and then worked as a nurse in the township health center, and got a college diploma through self-study. Now I am a staff member of a public institution.

I seldom go to the village unless there is something special. Last year, something happened at home, so I had to go. The reason is this: the father and son quarreled about the girl's marriage, and then the father and son clashed and the father refused to go home. In father's opinion, girls can't get married because they study well, go to high school and then go to college. Son's opinion, good mother-in-law's family, family conditions are very good, especially sisters, face hard, the girl's family will give it to others sooner or later, it is better to end it early. Who should I talk to? Who evaluated this reason?

This father is a staff member of a national institution. He used to be the dean of a county people's hospital. He was the tallest intellectual in the village in the 1960s. Retired for many years and recuperated at home. This son is the most respected religious intellectual of the Hui nationality-Imam, who once opened a mosque in his village.

Most things about this girl are decided by her parents. Finally, the girl got married, and even if grandpa didn't attend the wedding, the wedding was held as usual.

There are many stories in the village, just like the running water of the small river at the entrance of the village, which flows every day. Those stories rarely exist in people's minds, and most of them have been forgotten.

I yearn for the ravine in the village, and then catch a flock of sheep and dig a clay pot to cook potatoes, but there are no sheep in the village.

That village is old and will soon disappear, and new villages are gradually appearing.
