The interview lasted for two months, and it took about two months from one interview to the last HR interview. After the interview, it took about two weeks to get the offer. Finally, I got an offer to join the company. Write my experience and tell you about it.

Interview process: direct leadership telephone interview → small homework → department director face →HR face

Direct leadership interview is mainly to do some simple self-introduction and talk about the projects that have been done before;

Checkpoint:

1. Professional ability:

The interviewer's main questions focus on: what methods have been used in the research, why did you choose this method, what problems your research solved and what value it brought; Talk about what you personally think is the best project.

Answer: In fact, we should pay more attention to the professional value brought by work. If you don't consider the professional value of research from the beginning when you do a project, it's hard to say anything, so you should sum up more when you do a project at ordinary times.

A lot of practical research work is routine work such as usability testing. It is hard to say that there is anything new by in-depth interviews to find pain points and demand points. So I summed up the project types at that time and combined my own value with the project types. For example, I said that I summarized my work into three types:

First of all, it is routine research, such as usability testing before and after the project goes online, and then I give examples of usability testing to help products find out what problems and track the closure of usability problems.

The second is innovative research, that is, this product does not have this function, or even a complete product. At this time, users' needs and pain points are usually explored through in-depth interviews with users, and experience maps and user portraits are generated, which will assist competitive product analysis and so on, providing reference for product managers' functional planning and post-design. Then I gave an example of a travel app to tell how I supported the whole design through research. I can say one or two details. For example, I found xxx through my own research, and then this discovery landed for a certain function. How to land and how to support the design need to be refined;

The third is to help the business side solve the problem. For example, in order to achieve a certain purpose, the business side wants to make a new functional module, but it is not known whether this function can achieve its own purpose or whether it is necessary to make this functional module. It is best to show the ability of problem transformation and research and design, further research and design, and at the same time, it is best to show the ability of data analysis.

I think for the answer of professional ability, remember to tell me the process of doing the project. Everyone knows the process of doing things, so you can go through the process and mainly highlight the value you bring in each process.

2. Communication skills:

The interviewer's question focuses on: What would you do if others questioned your research report? How to convince others that your research is valuable?

Answer train of thought: My communication skills are also relatively average, so I recently bought a wonderful "Speak Well" and thought it was not bad. The book divides speech ability into five categories: communication, persuasion, negotiation, speech and debate. I think communication and persuasion may often be used when doing projects.

Communication means equality between the two sides. I used to be a little strong when communicating with others, expressing that everything I said was right. Don't question it, and then I also expressed this attitude in other interviews. For example, my speech was "If someone challenges me, I will …" and then I hung up.

During the interview, I think expressing communication and persuasion skills is enough. Communication is how to cooperate with business parties, interaction designers and other parties. When they ask questions, how to deal with them? Don't rush to say that I convinced them that my plan is right, but listen and think about whether what the other party said is reasonable before making a decision. If what the other party says is really reasonable, we should accept it. If what the other party says is unreasonable, don't rush to deny it, affirm it first, and then express your own views to further convince the other party. I have been asked by the interviewer more than once how you persuaded the other person, so this question is really important.

My idea is to put facts and reason, and give an example to convince the interviewer that you have thought about it. For example, I said that the leader of a project I was working on was not particularly satisfied with the usability test report. What he wants to see is a particularly innovative idea, not a basic usability problem. So when we communicated with him at that time, we would emphasize that innovation is important, but the improvement of usability can bring huge benefits in a short time. At that time, the goal of the product (OA system) was to improve efficiency and let users complete tasks quickly, so that they could concentrate on the work itself. At that time, I calculated the decrease of system efficiency caused by usability problems, such as how long this usability problem may delay employees and how many employees we will meet. Then, they will be delayed by X hours of working time every week, how long will they be delayed every month and year, and how much these hours are equivalent. Therefore, to solve these basic usability problems is a problem of improving efficiency and saving costs quickly for us. After showing these data to the leader, he saw the value of this matter instead of denying our research value.

Work 1: data analysis

Compared with basic data analysis, pay more attention to how the analysis results are used by others, and don't analyze them for the sake of analysis.

Assignment 2: Research and Design of Requirements Verification

There are many considerations in this part. You'd better give Scheme A and Scheme B, and then tell me your preferred research scheme and reasons.

This part of the research design is a bit like a graduate thesis, that is, you have to have research assumptions, and then have research design.

Take airbnb for example. Previously, they assumed that "if professional room photography services are provided for homeowners, the number of room reservations in this part will increase". Later, when they found out that this was the case, they promoted this service on a large scale.

So your research topic is "if you provide such services to homeowners, will it bring about an increase in room reservations?" Research and design for this hypothesis.

Tips:

Homework is submitted in the form of ppt, so be sure to pay attention to your ppt production ability. At the same time, pay attention to whether the idea of ppt is clear and complete, not ok if you understand it yourself, but let the interviewer know the purpose, value, process and result of your doing so after reading it.

The director mainly asks some detailed questions on the basis of self-introduction to understand your thinking and so on.

There was a question at the scene, and the answer was not particularly good, but it mainly showed that the idea was correct.

The HR of all companies is similar. Speaking of HR, as long as there are no serious mistakes, there will be no big problems.

Mainly examine your job stability, such as where your home is, whether there are people, why you are considering working here, whether you have any questions to ask, and so on.

In addition, it took a long time from homework to director interview, because the interviewer informed me that I had passed the initial test, but HR never confirmed the time of the follow-up interview with me, so I kept calling HR to confirm the interview time and place. So pay attention to yourself during the interview. When the other party has no immediate feedback, be sure to call or email more. Don't feel embarrassed, after all, this is one of their jobs.

In addition, if you haven't received the results of the interview for a week or two, you can ask the interviewer or HR by phone or email. If you don't pass, you can ask the other party to point out what you need to improve and prepare for the follow-up interview. I once asked the other person this question during the interview, but the other person has no obligation to reply to you, so don't expect too much. In addition, don't ask the reason before you know that the interview failed, otherwise it will be very insecure to ask after the interview.
