Is the undergraduate thesis really unimportant?
As an enterprise researcher, I have personal experience in writing papers. If an enterprise, especially the employees of scientific research institutions, can only do practical things, but can't truly and accurately express their scientific research achievements in the form of papers, then the gold content of their work is bound to decrease a lot. Even if your scientific research results have great social effects, your productivity will increase a lot. If you just talk with your own mouth, not many people will believe you. As the saying goes, "What you say is groundless." Only when it is reflected on paper in the form of scientific research papers, so that everyone has their own reasons for learning, can they be recognized by others and turn your scientific research achievements into productive forces. "Science and technology are the primary productive forces." Therefore, it is always a pity that a person can only do but not write. In fact, not only people who do scientific research should learn to write papers, but also people who do other jobs should learn to write papers. In many other jobs, you will also encounter writing feasibility reports, research reports, summary reports and so on. Only by learning to write in this form can you turn your "lip service" into "talk on paper" and make your ideas and statements more convincing and credible. So many reasons mentioned above seem to have little to do with the importance of undergraduate graduation thesis, but they are not. I personally think that college students have unique learning conditions, and they can consult teachers or classmates in time if they have any questions. Once they need to write relevant papers and other report materials after taking part in the work, there is no such good condition for them to learn from scratch. Therefore, it is certainly not difficult for college students to spend some time learning to write some papers, investigation reports and other words, which will only be beneficial to them who are about to enter the workplace. Therefore, undergraduates write papers not only for graduation, but also to master a job skill, a skill and a specialty. Only by learning to write can we pave the way for possible problems in the future. Although the quality of graduation design (thesis) is an important basis for measuring teaching level, students' graduation and degree qualification certification. However, schools can make appropriate changes according to the rigid regulations of the Ministry of Education. Because of the different majors of college students, it is impossible for all college students to write papers on project topics all the time. There are many other forms that can be replaced, as long as the same requirements and effects are achieved. For example, we can learn from the experience of foreign education, set up scientific research credits and establish undergraduate research centers, so that the concept of innovative education runs through the whole process of college students' learning, which can be assessed through term papers or research summaries. The advantages of doing this are: on the one hand, it can improve college students' scientific research ability and innovation ability, and broaden their learning ideas; On the other hand, they will not be allowed to write their graduation thesis just for graduation, which will always conflict with the time of finding a job, thus lowering the writing standard and scientific level of the thesis and leading to fraud and plagiarism. Having said that, flexibility is not unprincipled flexibility, but requires school leaders and teachers to change the usual teaching mode, update teaching concepts, strengthen the quality control and management of students' papers, and help and guide students to learn this skill in a timely and appropriate manner. To sum up, it is beneficial for college students to learn to write papers, reports and comprehensive research. Although 42.5% of people in this survey think that graduation thesis should be cancelled, I think graduation thesis should not be cancelled, but should be strengthened, so that college students can master one more skill in the limited study time, right? Schools can make use of the unique teaching resources, create favorable conditions for students according to their different professional efforts, and take as many assessment forms as possible instead of the only graduation thesis writing, which will also achieve a win-win effect.
