This major was approved by the State Council Academic Degrees Committee 1982 and the State Council 1990. There are 7 professors (including 2 doctoral supervisors), 22 associate professors, 24 doctoral and master teachers, and 0/5 engineers and technicians.
The teaching and research facilities of this major are complete, including mechanical dynamics laboratory, original laboratory of mechanical parts and mechanical design experiment center with more than 200 microcomputers. Advanced experimental instruments and equipment provide a good experimental research environment for graduate students.

Over the years, this major has carried out fruitful research work in the field of mechanical design and theoretical research. In recent years, experts and professors in this major have undertaken dozens of national and ministerial funded projects and a large number of horizontal scientific research projects. More than 863 National Plan, Eighth Five-Year Plan, National Natural Science Foundation, dozens of ministries and their projects have been appraised 10. He won 4 scientific and technological progress awards from the State Education Commission, 8 provincial and municipal scientific and technological progress awards, and published more than 200 papers.
