There are historical reasons for the formation and development of English regional varieties. This paper distinguishes different regional varieties of English from the perspective of grammar and pronunciation, and points out that the similarity and consistency of the varieties are absolute, while the differences are slight and relative. With the increasingly obvious trend of language integration, the differences of varieties are gradually narrowing, and the trend of Americanization of modern English is independent of human will.
