The purpose and requirements of graduation design (thesis)
1.
Graduation design (thesis) is an important part of the talent training plan in colleges and universities, the last important teaching link in the teaching process and an important embodiment of the quality of talent training. The purpose of graduation project (thesis) is to cultivate students' ability to analyze and solve practical problems by comprehensively applying the basic theories, professional knowledge and basic skills they have learned.
2. Requirements
Students are required to independently complete the given graduation design (thesis) task and write a graduation design instruction or thesis that meets the requirements under the guidance of the tutor. Specifically, in terms of knowledge requirements, we should comprehensively use multidisciplinary knowledge and skills to analyze and solve practical problems, so as to deepen theoretical understanding, expand knowledge fields and extend professional skills; In terms of ability training, students should learn to investigate, collect, process and sort out information according to the task, use reference books correctly, master the basic methods of scientific research and the ability to write technical documents, master the basic methods of experiments and tests, and improve their ability to analyze and solve practical engineering problems; In terms of comprehensive quality requirements, it is necessary to cultivate students' serious scientific attitude and rigorous and realistic work style, and establish a correct view of engineering, production, economy and overall situation.
Pay attention to when choosing a topic
(1) The topic of graduation design (thesis) should be closely related to the needs of economic and social development, oriented to engineering practice and social practice, and combined with the needs of employers and the problems that employers urgently need to solve as much as possible, and the real questions should be done.
(2) The topic selection should reflect the requirements of comprehensive professional training, and the difficulty and workload should be appropriate. More than 50% graduation design (thesis) projects of all majors must be completed in engineering practice, social practice or laboratory.
(3) All departments should take the initiative to keep close contact with cooperative units and employers, do a good job in selecting topics and guiding the selection and training of teachers, so that graduates can be competent quickly after they arrive at employers.
(4) The professional topics are updated by more than 1/5 every year, and those graduation design topics that are not in great demand by social employers are eliminated. In principle, one person can ask a question, and many people can ask a large topic, but everyone must have independent content.
(5) The content and difficulty of graduation project (thesis) undertaken by everyone should be appropriate, and students should be able to complete it through hard work within 8- 12 weeks.
(6) Students who have special requirements for work units are allowed to do graduation design in contractors, and the mode of joint training between schools and factories can be adopted. However, the department where the students belong should send instructors to guide and manage the whole process of graduation design.
(7) Students who need to carry out graduation design (thesis) in advance after completing other necessary credits in this major should apply for graduation design (thesis) in advance, which is approved by the department where the students are located and implemented after being reported to the Academic Affairs Office for the record. The corresponding instructor must have a master's degree or above or a technical secondary school degree or above.
