Bitter and bittersweet

Everyone longs for joy, but not everyone really understands the meaning of "joy".

Some people think that no suffering is fun, and only a carefree life is fun. This seems reasonable at first glance, but it is absurd. Because the world is contradictory and unified, with joys and sorrows; What fun is there without bitter comparison? Bitterness and pleasure are unity of opposites and inseparable.

First of all, suffering is the premise of happiness.

As the saying goes, "neither bitter nor sweet." This shows that happiness is based on suffering. Imagine, which successful person in the world is a successful person who enjoys smooth sailing for life? Of course not. On the contrary, people who succeed are often those who can hone themselves in hardships and work hard. As Sima Qian said: "King Gavin was arrested and went to Zhouyi; Zhong You wrote Spring and Autumn Annals; Qu Yuan's exile is a tribute to Li Sao ... "It can be seen that there is no joy of success without painful struggle.

Secondly, pleasure is the purpose of pain.

Everyone must have a belief to support it, so that it is possible to endure the "bitterness" that comes at any time. This belief is "music"-that is, ideals and pursuits. Only those who have ideals and pursuits will not be intimidated by some difficulties, and it is possible to get the final "music". Imagine, if there is no firm belief and determination not to learn from the scriptures and never look back, can Xuanzang calmly face the difficult road and get the scriptures? I'm afraid he can't get out of Chang 'an, so he'll have to complain bitterly and go back to Baosha.

Again, happiness in suffering is true happiness.

If a person eats, drinks and enjoys endless happiness all his life, it seems to be a kind of "perfect happiness". Actually, it's not. It's just a mindless lowest pleasure. Not to mention its illusory nature, even if there is such joy, it can only make people laugh like Liu Chan's "I don't think about it". True happiness can only be achieved through hard work and unremitting struggle-happiness in suffering is true happiness.

In short, bitterness and happiness are dialectical unity, which requires us to correctly treat the relationship between bitterness and happiness, and chewing sweetness from bitterness is the correct attitude. As young students, only by constantly honing themselves in practice can they make due contributions to society and thus obtain "real happiness".
