1In April, 954, Zhu Tingcheng studied plant ecology with Academician Li Jidong of Peking University, during which he investigated the vegetation in the western hills of Beijing with Academician Li Jidong. After two years of investigation, analysis and exploration, Zhu Tingcheng's first paper, Preliminary Analysis of Vegetation Near Sarthou, Heilongjiang Province, was published in Acta Botanica on 1955. Based on the projection map and ecological series, he creatively discussed the composition, types and distribution of grassland vegetation near Sarthou (now Daqing City) in Heilongjiang Province. This paper has attracted the attention of foreign counterparts. 1960, the Federal German scholar Professor Danente commented: "This is the first paper on grassland ecology in China". In the article Review of the Development History of International Geophysics (196 1), the former Soviet scholar Aleksandr Konrad wrote: "This is an article on the study of grassland vegetation in China from the perspective of plant ecology, which represents a new direction of grassland research in China." During the period from 1955 to 1960, Zhu Tingcheng went deep into the grassland in Northeast China for many times, and successively wrote a series of research papers, such as Introduction to the Main Grassland in Northeast China, Grassland in Western Northeast China and Eastern Inner Mongolia, and Comparative Analysis of the Underground Parts of the Three Grasslands in Northeast China, which laid a foundation for further study of the grassland in Northeast China. Under the planning of Zhu Tingcheng and with the approval of the Science and Technology Committee of China Northeast Bureau, the Grassland Research Office was established in Northeast Normal University on 1960, which is the earliest grassland research institution established in China's colleges and universities. Zhu Tingcheng was appointed as the director of the research office and undertook the scientific research task of "grassland improvement and rational utilization in the northeast and west". From then on, he devoted all his energy to the study of grassland ecology. While conducting scientific research, Zhu Tingcheng also translated and published eight Russian monographs, including Grassland of the Soviet Union and Principles of Vegetation Theory, which played a positive role in promoting the wide spread and development of grassland and vegetation science in China.
1In the spring of 963, Zhu Tingcheng attended the National Conference on Agricultural Science and Technology held by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council with excellent research results, and was cordially received by party and state leaders such as Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai and Deng Xiaoping. Since then, he devoted himself to research with selfless spirit.
1964, the Science and Technology Commission of Northeast Bureau organized five universities and scientific research units in three northeastern provinces to establish "Northeast Grassland Improvement Bantian" in Dorbod Mongolian Autonomous County, Heilongjiang Province, with Zhu Tingcheng as the technical director to eat and live with herders, summarizing the experience of the masses in setting fire to wasteland and cutting grass reasonably. 1970, Zhu tingcheng was sent to a deep ditch in Huadian county for reeducation through labor on the charge of "being expert but not red" In order to change the poor living conditions of farmers in this backward ravine, according to the principle of grassland structure stratification, he changed single planting into experimental field with reasonable collocation of high and low stalk crops and intercropping of beans and Gramineae crops. This experimental field has created ecological conditions for mutual benefit of crops and made full use of land and space. Known affectionately by farmers as "three floors", the yield of experimental field after autumn is 30% higher than that of single crop. Huadian county specially organized more than 200 production captains to visit and study. During the period of 1973, when Zhu Tingcheng received "re-education" in Kezuozhong Banner pastoral area of Inner Mongolia, he put forward the proposal of building a four-in-one forage bank of grain, grass, forest and forage on degraded grassland, which was supported by farmers and herdsmen. Together with the herdsmen, he built a 100 hectare Cullen, and the forage yield doubled. Combined with Cao Kulun's successful experience, Zhu Tingcheng and his colleagues created a "wall chart of grassland construction", which put the basic principles of grassland construction into words and received the attention of the Ministry of Agriculture. It was soon published in Chinese, Mongolian, Tibetan and Kazakh and distributed throughout the country. This is the first set of color wall charts about grassland science in China, which has played a positive role in promoting grassland construction. From 65438 to 0978, Zhu Tingcheng was promoted from a lecturer to a professor and began to recruit the first batch of grassland ecology graduate students in our school. Ecosystem is the basic unit of modern ecological research. Since the late 1960s, it has become the key research object of the International Biological Program (IBP). Zhu Tingcheng seized the growing point of international ecological development in time, presided over the research of the national key scientific and technological project "Structure, Function and Biological Productivity of Meadow Grassland Ecosystem" during the Sixth Five-Year Plan period, and wrote and published the book "Introduction to Ecosystem", which became the first book on ecosystem in China.
198 1 year, Zhu Tingcheng participated in the 14th International Grassland Congress (IGC) held in Kentucky, USA for the first time on behalf of the Grassland Society of China, and read out the paper "Study on the Original Ecology of Leymus chinensis in Northeast China". Since then, the word "Leymus chinensis", the representative grass species of Chinese grassland, has been widely quoted by international academic journals. 1985 At the 15th International grassland science Conference held in Japan, Zhu Tingcheng and his student * * * wrote the article "The Further Development of China Temperate Grassland Resources and Grassland Agriculture", which was selected as one of the top ten conference reports by the Conference. Eighty colorful slides of Chinese grassland were shown simultaneously, showing the colorful temperate grassland of China, one of the three largest grasslands in the world, to the world for the first time. Weller Werding, the chairman of the jury of this conference, a famous American grassland ecologist and a professor at the University of Iowa, commented: "A scientist often learns more and more knowledge from a narrower scope. However, after listening to Professor Zhu's report, people have learned more and more knowledge from more and more fields. Therefore, we deeply admire! " . At this meeting, Zhu Tingcheng was elected as a permanent member of the International Lawn Conference composed of 1 1 world-renowned scholars. This is the first time that China scholars have been selected into such a high-level international lawn academic organization, which has won academic honor for the motherland.
Zhu Tingcheng not only focused on grassland ecology academically, but also studied the plants in Changbai Mountain on the border between China and North Korea. As early as 196 1, the article "How to Protect and Utilize the Plant and Animal Resources of Changbai Mountain" co-authored by him and Professor Fu was submitted as a motion of the Third National People's Congress and published in Jilin Daily, which promoted the establishment and preliminary construction of Changbai Mountain Nature Reserve. 200 1 Invited to visit the plant ecology on the south slope of Changbai Mountain in North Korea, and published Species and Distribution of Changbai Mountain in cooperation with Korean scholars (Volume I). This is the first book about the overall biodiversity of Changbai Mountain, which provides a scientific basis for China and North Korea to develop green industries and apply for "World Natural and Cultural Heritage". In 2004, the academic monograph "Leymus chinensis Bioecology", edited by nearly one million words, is a landmark work in the study of Leymus chinensis Bioecology. Most of the contents of this book condense the scientific conclusions and practical research results of the Grassland Research Institute of Northeast Normal University for more than 50 years, and make contributions to perfecting the grassland ecology theory.
Zhu Tingcheng attaches great importance to applied research while conducting basic theoretical research. 1963 was invited to participate in the investigation of grassland reclamation organized by Agriculture Committee, Agriculture Department and Agriculture Reclamation Department of North China Bureau, and wrote Grassland Utilization and Animal Husbandry Production in Zhemeng, Inner Mongolia, Investigation Report on Grassland Utilization in Heilongjiang Province, How to Do a Good Job in Grassland Construction and Start Grass Industry to Revitalize Animal Husbandry, Introducing Grass into Fields, Grain and Grass Rotation, and Grassland Degradation and Grassland Ecology. Presided over the project "Northeast Grassland Improvement and Utilization" and won the major scientific and technological achievement award of Jilin Provincial Government; Projects such as "Leymus chinensis grassland research" and "Northeast grassland ecological research" won the Science and Technology Progress Award of the State Education Commission for five times; The national key scientific and technological projects of "Grassland Land Management" and "Utilization of Forage Resources in China" won the Science and Technology Progress Award of the Ministry of Agriculture twice, and there are too many such awards.
1986 Northeast Normal University established the Grassland Research Institute, with Zhu Tingcheng as its director. In the same year, he founded the first doctoral program focusing on grassland ecology in China. 1989 with the approval of the state planning commission and the state education commission, our school established the national grassland ecological engineering laboratory, with Zhu Tingcheng as the director of the academic Committee of the laboratory. 1992 postdoctoral mobile station was established. In more than 50 years of research work, he has published more than 300 papers. Although Zhu Tingcheng is over 70 years old, he is still an "old Ma Qianli." He has served as deputy editor-in-chief or editor-in-chief of national academic core journals such as Forage Flora of China, Grassland of China, Journal of Grassland, Journal of Ecology, Journal of Applied Ecology, Journal of Plant Ecology and Contemporary Ecological Agriculture, and was hired by the Ministry of Agriculture as a scientific and technological consultant for grassland resources investigation in northern China. Because of his outstanding contributions to teaching and scientific research, he has been included in many celebrity lists, such as Who's Who in Contemporary China, Stone Forest, Scientist, Who's Who in the World in Cambridge, England, and Who's Who of International Outstanding Leaders of American Biography Society. Won the first batch of government special allowance approved by the State Council, Jilin Talent Medal, the first batch of outstanding provincial experts in Jilin Province, 1997 Ceng Xianzi Education Fund Award, and the 40-year honorary award of scientific and technological work in colleges and universities of the Ministry of Education.
