How to write an argumentative essay on "bravely facing your own shortcomings"
Face up to shortcomings composition

Everyone has shortcomings, and all people in the world have shortcomings. It is not terrible to have shortcomings. What is terrible is that you dare not face up to your own shortcomings. If you don't even have the courage to face up to your shortcomings, how can you talk about correcting them?

The shortcomings of small people do little harm to society; However, the shortcomings of great men should not be underestimated. Little people have many shortcomings, but great people have few. This is mainly because the little people have less knowledge and the big people have more knowledge. Great people either don't make mistakes, and once they make mistakes, they are big mistakes. People make mistakes for two reasons. First of all, they make mistakes because of lack of cognition. The other is knowingly committing a crime. The deficiency of cognition should be improved by strengthening learning, supplementing knowledge and improving cognitive level; We should improve people's moral standards if we knowingly commit crimes.

When it comes to morality, everyone refuses to admit that there is something wrong with their morality. They thought they were people with high moral quality from the womb. When checking your own mistakes, always emphasize the objective reasons and never look for subjective reasons. When you criticize others, you always think from their moral qualities and think that there is something wrong with their nature. In fact, people have morality just after they are born. They cry when they are hungry and laugh when they are full. This is human nature. Xunzi called human eating and drinking Lazarus and other innate things nature, and gave it a name "evil". People not only have innate things, but also consciousness, also called knowledge. Consciousness is produced in social labor and is a reflection of nature. People are born unconscious. It is a person who, in the process of growing up, is influenced by the surrounding environment and begins to reflect and judge the surrounding things, and remembers the judgment results in his brain. Consciousness includes morality, which is the reflection of consciousness in social relations, such as father and son, brothers and sisters, love and friendship between husband and wife, and so on. Consciousness belongs to people's spiritual life, and only people have it, which is the fundamental feature that distinguishes people from animals. In this sense, consciousness and morality should be cultivated by people, not by human nature. However, some people don't think so. He is Mencius of Assyria. He thinks that morality, like eating and drinking Lazarus, is human nature and emphasizes it, so he named it "good" and extended it to "conscience" and "good". His evidence is that everyone has compassion. He believes that human compassion is innate. Therefore, he believes that morality does not need to be cultivated, as long as self-cultivation is strengthened, it will be consciously produced. Xunzi believes that people's morality is cultivated, and he particularly emphasizes the role of education. Confucius didn't talk about human nature and inherent vice. He believes that human nature is the same, there is not much difference, but the influence of the acquired environment is very different.

Because Mencius' theory of human nature is good and Xunzi's theory of inherent vice is not very pleasing, people would rather accept Mencius' theory of human nature than admit Xunzi's inherent vice. Xunzi's humanity mainly refers to people's eating and drinking Lazarus and so on. Why do you say it's evil? My understanding is that although these things are the objective needs of human beings, if they are left unchecked, they will cause harm to others, society and nature, resulting in bad consequences. Human nature is the root of human moral degeneration, so it is called innate evil. What is morality? Morality, specifically, should be an act of stubbornly causing harm to society or others knowing that it is impossible, which is called immorality; Restrain yourself from going too far, causing harm to others or contributing to society. This is called morality. Mencius' view of "good nature" is used to guide social practice, which is his idea of "benevolent governance". He taught the king to strengthen moral cultivation first, taking morality as the model of the country, and everyone in the world would learn from the king to strengthen moral cultivation, so that the world would become a state of courtesy and justice, and the world would be at peace. Mencius' thoughts and wishes sound good, but they are too idealistic in practice. Mencius' idealism doesn't work. I think there are three main reasons. One is to overemphasize the role of consciousness; The second is to cover up the depraved side of people's moral quality; Third, it bypasses the human nature of eating and drinking Lazarus. Mencius compared people's morality to bear's paw, compared food with fish, completely separated people's pursuit of material and spirit, and opposed them, saying that fish and bear's paw can't have both, and people should give up their pursuit of material. Mencius' view of sacrificing his life for righteousness is correct in a narrow sense. For example, friends should value morality over material things, so that society will be full of love and warmth. But in a broad sense, this is wrong. This is the practice of valuing spiritual civilization over material civilization, which makes people give up the pursuit of material civilization and pursue pure spiritual civilization instead. Compared with Mencius' theory of good nature, Xunzi's theory of evil nature is more reasonable and practical. It does not bypass people's objective material needs, but also dares to face up to people's shortcomings, that is, people's moral degeneration, and points out the ways and methods to overcome people's moral degeneration and cultivate people's morality through education. Xunzi believes that not only can we not avoid moral issues, but we should also pay attention to moral issues, which everyone should have, so that society will be harmonious.

People are conscious, why are animals unconscious? Maybe people have wisdom roots, but animals don't. If people's consciousness is called Huigen and conscience and virtue are called good roots, then good roots are produced by Huigen. Compared with animals, people receive information from nature sensitively and quickly, and form their own unique view of nature. Man's view of nature is established in the form of judgment. People's judgments on nature generally appear in the form of opposites. For example, right and wrong, good and bad, positive and negative, beautiful and ugly, good and evil, and so on. "Beauty is beauty, but not beauty; Ugliness is ugly, but not ugly; Evil is evil, not evil. " Good and bad are relative, things in people's minds, norms and standards of human behavior, and cannot replace the laws of nature. The law of nature is survival of the fittest. In addition to observing the laws of nature, human society should also abide by its own laws, which is morality. Everyone should have social morality, which is not born, but cultivated through acquired learning. Therefore, we must face up to this point, not only to see the moral conscience and goodness, but also to see the evil side of sex, and pay more attention to the sexual problems that lead to the root of sexual evil, and strive to solve the "evil" of sex, so that the society will be harmonious and harmonious.
